The benefit of the installed version is that it's discrete. From the outside looking in you can't see the display, which hopefully has a positive impact on my relationship with the police, and prevents theft.

I can give you the number of an installer in AK who did mine; will charge you two hours labour at the most and either sell the unit at cost or install one you source yourself (cheapest option, only reason I didn't was due to needing it relatively urgently). Can't imagine it costing much more than $1000 at most.

//photo upload still not working. Support on the Rennlist app is atrocious!

It wont take you long before you realise how overpriced NZ is. I think they price goods in like with Auckland property prices not incomes LOL!
lol! cheers mate. just need to check on the updating to NZ maps but should be all good.

I can also move between cars which is the bonus.

Paul - you still see that old Green 2S of mine around your way? Was having a good chat with Tony M this morning & thought it would be the ideal replacement.

Details please. Kept my fingers crossed for you guys all day - sounds like you came away in one piece. How was the Grinch vs BB2?

I sure did, $70k and it sat. Then finally sold then back on a short time later for $70k again. Nice car. Green interior is a tough one. It might sit a while this time too? Needs $10k spent on a black interior.

BB2 is a wet lap weapon. The Grinch could have the edge on a dry track.
We will be competitive with the two integra's

A bit too knackered to give a blow by blow analysis. Things that come to mind:

Chris and Ralf got blinder runs in BB first up. It was dry, the first few runs of the day and BB had a half fuel tank, but we had done nothing to her, if any of you are wondering. Ralf now holds the Vmax record with 173.3 km/hr, edging out Chris M at 172.7 km/hr.

The weather packed in after that making any other attempts at the leaderboard pointless.

BB did numerous sessions after that. I've lost count how many. Didn't miss a beat. BB2 was another dependable thoroughbred on the day. She got new rear pads but otherwise was faultless. Based on what I observed we will be very competitive with her. The Bridgestones stuck like doodads to a blanket.

As for the Grinch, he was a bit temperamental. When on song it seemed that he was as good as BB2 and in one race had Chris B in front, but we have more work to do. He needs a new thermostat, cold start / idle valve and we have a brake problem to fix. It looked like a sticking caliper that led to interesting moments at turn 2 etc.

While not racing per se, today gave many of us out first taste of being able to take on cars under braking and disciplined. Chris B is giving us the good oil. It was a great start and can only get better. We have a competitive platform.

A brilliant day had by all. Thanks everyone - as Dave said, these cars are just the medicine.

For those not into Hondas - spot the orange 928RS special in the background - GTS engine, brakes and running gear in a custom widened 1986 S2 shell with 10" and 11" turbo twist wheels. Great looking machine and Nick reckons it'll see plenty more track. A UK import, he's just got it roadworthy after lengthy and major work to get that UK rust out. Went down well in Queen St apparently last night on its first outing. Will get better shots of it when I see it again. Almost needed an underwater camera today...

From the 2k cup forum.....Walter!

Wow lots of really good fun out there today. First big thanks to nick, young jack, our point 1 flag marshal, Kara on the bbq and of course james keeping an eye on us. The class now has some money in the bank and we hope everyone enjoyed themselves. Some highlights Mark dunkley turning session 2 into a drift session Mx5 99 massive slides out of 4 having a great time. Steve *** and George efforts in the hair pin Following any mr2 was good fun. The new integra boys in 61 and 62 having a whale of a time. Even if one did tap my car on the corner I was flag marshaling Dave Rooney still smiling after a whoops moment Steve fistinich laughing after a few moments in the sand on his search for grip. Only 1 tow all day Feel free to add your own.
