Masa was somewhat surprised I knew he had sold the car. I'm not going to be too nosey but it sounds like it has sold to a local and is not destined to go offshore. We might see it out and about. I'd guess it's gone to someone who collects rare Porsches.
Was the melted cheese rear wing an actual factory option for a normal 3.6 turbo?
A small piece of NZ sales history for the turbo 3.6 nerds. Should have bought one, aye?
I was totally fixated with Red SM366 but at that time couldn't reach that far.
That's good to know Matt. Usually everything goes flat during my absences. Walt I amend my advantages of the performance box to only 1). Price (assuming you buy Matts)!
Tempted, but I think the advantages of comparing traces with other AIM users will weigh out.
My guess is around 150K locally which would seem about right. Your mileage analysis on your Porsches since you returned to live in NZ had me curious. Assuming you got back permanently late 2012 (from memory) I looked up carjam and worked out my mileage. The 993 is 13500km from 01 Sept 2012 and the 991 GT3 is 4600 km as of today. Not too shabby for someone who is never here (I think including overseas rental cars and my Vanuatu truck you can add around 35,000km to that in daily driving etc).
Donna put about 6,000km on the 996TT before I came home. Considering my daily commute is 18km total and I spend a reasonable amount of time on assignment I was quite surprised how much I had done. I also started listing all of the work done on the cars and the 996TT is not as bad as I thought. Maybe that's because some of the faults were annoying e.g, the door microswitch.
As for the price, that would seem reasonable. Masa was putting 200km per year on the car and it was immaculate. The paint is flawless. I'll post some more pics.

You might be right. Ive not yet got to the point where Ive felt the need/benefit. That being said there is finally a comparable car in the fleet (Paul), so that might change...
GT3 washed, chamoised and put under its Porsche indoor cover today. Very sad not to be putting more miles on it. Its the first Porsche Ive owned that I felt like driving every opportunity, wet, dry down to the shops etc. The specification and gearbox make it such a good daily proposition Im fairly certain this generation will have much higher average mileage than previous generations. What a great car. Very happy.
Thanks Matt. Thought they looked familiar with the sloped seat base sides and the flick on the headrest. Thanks John. They don't interest me but could give others on here an idea of what is possible locally..

The midnight blue X88 option was the one I lusted after. Was for sale for a while in late 90s at Giltraps I think, used to go in all the time looking at it.
