So, I assume that racing someone in another class that is driving at roughly your same speed is fine, no?
As long as you're 100% sure its just the two of you then there shouldn't be a problem. A problem occurs if the other guy is trying to catch up to the next position in his class, or maintain/stretch his lead over someone chasing him in his class. I finished 2nd in GTS2 at NASA nationals last year and was denied an opportunity to catch the 1st place car because of a fast on the straights, slow in the corners GTS5 car that wanted to race me. Our battle cost both of at least a second per lap, but I desperately needed that second per lap to catch my class leader.

early - I'm leading go defensive against another GT1 car get cought overslow-off boost and get passed
later- it shows what I consider a brake check
next. the same corner next lap normal brakes and speed taken in fourth gear
last- is show a back marker getting into the middle of the race for 1st overall.
FYI, I got him on the last lap

That was a really stupid, unaware move by the blue and yellow 993.

I guess that he developed all of those skills after he graduated from F Troop.

What an asswipe. I hope you gave him an appropriate hand gesture that indicated that he was number 1.

That is the understatement of the month. I wonder if GR was in that 993.

How about this video? Two class battles coming together at T3 Summit Point. I take 1st back on the front straight from the camera car, then we catch a pair of E30's. Look at how much time I gain on the camera car because of this.

BMW's and Porsches are the two different classes, btw.

That looks alot like my races.

In in a 2 vs 2 like that... Sometimes you are windshield, some times the bug.

It would have been nice for the 2nd BMW to hang back and let both 944's through, but he was able to use that to take a position himself. When racing equal cars like that you need to use every trick you can to gain an edge.

Mike, maybe I'm a lunatic, but I think that he let you get away. I would have stayed plastered to the bumper of the BMW that cut him off, and freight-trained the 2nd one up through Wagon Bend. With that run, I would have passed the first BMW inside of the chute, and been right back on your bumper by the carrousel.

Yeah, I hear you Larry. But those E30's have a tendacy to get sideways in corners big time (how you have to drive them I guess) and this was a non-points race for us. I might have hung back myself too, rather than press the issue with little to gain. Unless they are obviously giving me the corner, I try not to enter side by side with them.

Bill, thanks for the video, nice SLO-MO! You are really lucky that blue/yellow 993 did not take you out.

Anyone who brake checks is really a dic*, a good cause for a 13/13. Dirty Harry in the 944T did that to me at Pocono a few years ago, my 1st time seeing that move. Good reason to have a video camera, otherwise they might get away with it.

Have fun!
