Those are some horrific angles! I despise green cars in general. Looks better in the video when it's moving. The pics look extra bad when it has what is basically a ground effects package with a 4x4 stance.
I REALLY REALLY hope this is not the sign of a new direction of design for the Vette. I hate to think what the next version will look like using the C7 as a minimum statement factor. This design is a few less angles from perfection. Hopefully a facelift will soften it up a bit.

Time for my humble opinion, having owned a true "stingray" in the past.... They need to loose the stupid center 4-pipe configuration and attempt the 68-72 in a left/right tunnel look....... push something like a stinger hood (even if small and tasteful)....or, and sit down for this.... small polished ss bumper sections on front and rear. (Sorry but just calling the car a "Stingray" with a stupid emblem is bad taste).

Saw the green car at Limerock on the ALMS race weekend. Disappointed. The 4x4-level air btw wheels and metal is HUGE! (Why?) The Chevy reps there to answer questions couldn't answer any, either.

Those pictures seem a long way away from the pics below.
The rear will never get not ugly, but it does not have to be THAT bad. The rest of the car looks OK to me but the C6 looked better.
I'd remove all chrome and emblems, take the dark blue color that matches all the functional vents closely (top 2 pics), paint over some reflectors, lower it, wider wheels and some kind of black exhaust tips, 2 not 4.

I understand that, just showing one example of what we see in a regular basis as drivers and also cars... like some mentioned here, happens more often than not.

LOL. I'll be the first to admit that I'm no photographer. However, I tried my best to get an angle that would make the car look GOOD. That was the best I could do. I tried other angles, and the car looked even worse. Now you know why I came away disappointed.
Contrast with the new 991 GT3, where it looked good no matter what angle I took:

I agree. I was expecting to see that car. There's definitely a difference. Unless false advertising is going on, maybe the difference is the Z51 package? Z51 suspension lowers the car, gives it better looking wheels and larger brakes?

After seeing those pics of an actual C7 (what's up with the 4x4 stance??), I really miss my old C1. And the C5 Z06 that I foolishly sold to buy the 996 that I only kept for 3 months before unloading it...

I don't know why all the complaints about a ~ 50K car that's aimed at the general public.
Tail light complaint I understand... but you don't see them from the drivers seat.
GM indicated their aim was focused on the general public... 30 something targeted, looking for younger buyers.
My guess is.. they hit their target, but I'm waiting to see the new Z06 before committing.

As for pricing, don't mistake the base price for the real number by the time the Stingray is at its best for driving and with a few upgrades to cabin trim, it will be over $60K.
The coupe as shown at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show was $73,360.
Z51 Performance package $2,800
competition sports seats $2,495
exposed-carbon-fiber roof panel $1,995
Magnetic Ride Control with Performance Traction Management $1,795
Dual-mode exhaust system $1,195
Carbon fiber interior trim $995
Alcantara (equivalent) upper interior trim $995
Red-painted brake calipers $595
Black-painted wheels $495
2LT option package $4,210
I haven't scoured the whole option list, it's out there on the Web somewhere, but I've not seen it. I certainly wouldn't check too many of these froufrou bits, but car for car, the 991 GT3 will be quicker because of PDK and cost about twice as much as the Vette. Both will probably depreciate little in the first 12 months, but three years hence, surely the Vette owner will be better off, but by a slender margin simply because the GT3 will hold value and the Stingray will be old news and buyers will be aiming for the Z versions. I imagine a good number of ZR1 buyers will be crying in their beers when they get resale value offers from their dealer to update to the C7 and find they're getting "less" car and paying $30K to update to a car at a lower window sticker … I think that will take away a few buyers from the Vette.

The GM stylists could have done better...but maybe the corporate bureaucrats picked the design direction or maybe all the good ones left during the bankruptcy and the guy that designed the Aztec is now in charge? And I am sure that it will have horrible BSR...
