Again, I am keeping my 991 but anyone who likes cars has to be at least a little intrigued with the C8 (or one should be). Is it perfect to me? No. For example, I do not like the rear end or the angled screen to the right of the wheel, and I am sure when I see one in person there will be other things I do not like but I do like what I see now otherwise.

The back lights scream Camaro and I’m not sure what’s up with the climate controls, but overall I’m very impressed. Can’t wait to see one in the flesh.

I find it stunningly beautiful and for the price ... good luck beating it. I can’t wait to see it in person and drive one.

It will be a performance monster however ..... it looks way too busy... too many hard angles and cuts .. proportions are all wrong and lopsided... rear looks horrrrribllleeee!! ... it'll sell like hot cakes lol!

Yeah I watched one just burn to the ground in my intermediate NASA DE group last fall. The owner had complained quite vocally about limp mode coming after just a few laps and he was already so frustrated he was planning to get rid of it at the end of the season - one event away. My Alfa 4C and another guy’s 991.1 GT3 RS were doing great so the three of us were having fun running together (similar overall pace with the Z06 faster) until he’d overheat after 2-3 laps, then we’d keep on going and he’d have to pull off for a cool down.

I really like the potential in this as a track car but I also wouldn’t be an early adopter as I’d expect the new mid-engine RWD configuration to be harder to keep thermally regulated.

I’m in a high desert environment at UMC which has some high speed track configurations so this is probably a near-worst-case environment.

And that is without high performance model that is liekly to be released later in production.
Yup, GM really kicked some *** on this one. Go back a bit in Ferrari history and look at the 430. The C8 has similar hp, granted a bit more weight, but also ONE THIRD the price tag! The C7 grand sport kicked a lot of *** on a road course, I expect the C8 to do the same and even better.

Apparently there is no mechanical connection between the transmission and the gearshift. Chevrolet patented a remote electrically operated clutch- potentially it and an electronic shifter could allow the DCT to be servo operated? Doesn’t look good.

I’m surprised at the weight. The LS engines are some of the lightest around for the power, the tech looks good. Did the car get that much bigger?

Lots of tech and no tub. Its big boneded. 3600 is still pretty light. The 992 will be almost 3500.

+1. Starting with the December C8 deliveries.

Super excited for the car but they could have done a lot more with a mid engined car styling wise. It looks like something Rockstar would have come up with if you asked them to design a plain mid engined car for Grand Theft Auto.

No manual, no available in green, square steering wheel (so fat people can get in and out easier), hard pass for me (and I am fat, but like round wheels, because you know, they should be round).

Agreed. If the foundation car is this good... the motorsport variants will be insane. Can't wait to drive one and see what the chassis has to offer.

I think it looks interesting, but then again, I don't really care as much about how things look as they perform. I will hold my evaluation until we see these things in the wild. Particularly given how things have gone with previously iterations on track, with LIMP mode and all that, and particularly cooling issues.

I am also distressed, as others, at the complete lack of ability to get a hummer in this deal here. That, and the amazing amount of buttons. As others have said, maybe there was a sale or something?
