Only if you gotta have it first (winter delivery too in most cases lol) and don't want to shop out of area. For 10% (6-8k) that's a steep price to save a road trip IMO.
This will still be a "mass produced" car. ADM won't last long and MSRP will fall soon after. A year max. Once the Z06 and Zora come out forget about it. Deep discounts all around, with some of the first round bugs (if any) worked out to boot.
Let everyone else overpay to be first then swoop in and get an amazing car for an impossible price.
Pricing is right in line with C7. Bravo to GM for not price gouging when they KNOW they have something here.
As a current Cayman owner, this thing has my attention! But, I have some reservations. The car dimensions are huge compared to a Cayman. Also, I have always appreciated quicker revving small bore engines over big v8s. Maybe it wont be for me, but I will definitely be checking them out next spring!
Look closer, it's in there for $5000. Super bargain.
Yeah I saw that and I checked the pricing doc directly off the Chevy website and that's exactly as you say it is.
Up to now the dealers were saying the Z51 Package was going to be $5K over the base 1LT/2LT/3LT packages. N' I think they said this was similar to the C7 roll-out.
Then they said the 0-60 Z51 Performance Package was going to be more $$ and it didn't have a price yet. (was estimated to come in between $8K - $12K). Again like the C7.
So right now, it appears the $5K Z51 Package BECAME the Z51 Performance Package. So for now I have to believe it.
But I won't be a bit surprised if that doesn't change sometime in the near future.
It almost seems like a mistake in the pricing doc.. TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE etc..

Z51 used to include MRC on the C7 as well as the drysump for the LT1.
Drysump became standard on the LT2 on the C8 and MRC became a separate line item from Z51.
So if you combine MRC and Z51 on the C8 then it is close to 7K give or take. So it is in the ballpark more or less.
I hate the the Camaro more than I hate any other sports car. In fact I think I hate it even more than I hate mini vans. It is a totally ugly overhyped piece of ****. The only people dumb enough to buy them are people who look like they live in trailer homes. Because anyone with an ounce of self esteem would get something better.
So while I like the Corvette quite a lot, that rear end is a deal breaker. I can't believe GM was so stupid. With the C7 at least they made the rear end look like a Corvette and then copied it with the Camaro instead of copying the crappy Camaro this time.
I hope they put different lights on the Z06. If they did an AWD hybrid Z06 with different rear lights and 750hp, I would be sold.

The C7 Z51 never included MSRC as standard, it was an option. Z06 and GS came standard with MSRC.
Anyone else think the extended suede covering with the 3LT package is a bit yech!
Yeah, suede on a car that will see tracktime might not be the best combination. Lot's of dust and such running with windows down. Been playing around the configurator to bring it down to a 2LT with an adrenaline red interior with the competition seats. Got to break the sea of black of the interior. Only reason why I was considering the 3LT was for the deviated stitching.
Not sure if this rendering is right since the steering wheel has the red stitching and the 12 o'clock mark as well as deviated stitching on the competition seats.

Reason: oops steering wheel, oops it is the adrenaline red interior

Looks good. What exterior color are you going with? I'm planning on torch red, but undecided on the interior combo that would best match that. Was initially leaning towards natural dipped leather, but not sure that would be a good combo.

What's the difference between natural and dipped? All I can see is the dipped is completely beige'd out while the natural has a little black here and there to break it up which I think looks better.
Also I know seat upgrades are a mega deal on a Porsche forum but I'm not seeing any apparent reason to get GT2 as they both look basically identical with very minor (but not better or worse) differences between them.

Thanks! I am still a bit undecided on the exterior color since almost every color except black (hides the contrast bits and makes the car look monotone) looks good on the C8.
Great choice on the natural dipped leather, Torch Red with the natural dipped leather looks really nice, it has great contrast and brightens up the interior and makes it look warm and spacious.
