So long as GM is actually able to sell the car and meet the demand, they have a smash hit on their hands. 155 pages and counting.... incredible. Haven't seen a car generate this much buzz, I have never even thought of a Corvette for a second in my entire life and here I am

I suspect they would sacrifice some of that trunk area if they need room for inter coolers.
Yeah, that engine sits really low in the car. Looks like a ton of room for a SC to sit on top. There is also supposed to be a lot of room under the cross bracing on either side of the engine for turbos. Overall its a pretty compact engine package, they have a lot of room to work with for power adders!

Perhaps you're talking about aftermarket S/C installs, but the high power versions from GM are going to be TT engines per reports; versions of the 4.4L(?) Cadillac 'Blackwing' engine.

How long are the equivalent threads on the forums for Mustangs, Camaros, BMWs, Ferraris, various Japanese cars, and so forth?

While the C8 is an interesting car, and worthy of a second look by all, my guess is that the length of this thread has more to do with customer frustration with Porsche's endless game-playing than with any real or imagined merits of the C8.

That is why Porsche should be concerned. Not because of the unlikely possibility that GM has somehow managed to build a better sports car than Porsche... but because of the fact that people WISH they would.

This shows corners of c8 vette easy to locate, perhaps low cowl and fender creases help in threading the needle (wide car).
Nice v8 rumble, there is no substitute

In the parent folder "Other Marque Discussions" you can sort by number of views and replies, by clicking on "views" and "replies". GT350 thread that started in 2015 is #1, followed by this thread, then a "new Corvette" thread for the C7, then a Z/28 thread

That DCT with AFM is a scary proposition. No other car manufacturer has ventured into those waters.. and likely for good reason.
I'm actually in your camp here with respect to the 718.

I currently drive my wife's M2 LCI and love it but it's no 718.

I'm waiting to see how the C8 pans out but even if it's bulletproof I suspect the size and refinement vs the 718GTS just won't be there.

I'm still scratching my head at the thought of a ~$60k mid engine car with, NA V8 no less, about a foot behind my years. This thread has generated almost as much noise as that engine will be capable of producing!

While neither GM nor Porsche are perfect, such an accomplishment should be celebrated not admonished!

Shame on all of us, as car enthusiasts, if we fail to acknowledge the significance of this achievement.

I say this as a proud Porsche and a BMW enthusiast owner who has no axe to grind...
