Hello, I heard a easy way to do it. Most people in China now seems to put 24 Cayenne battery data, then it works. How they EXACTLY did it I dont know. But it seems it is through PIWIS.
Got the car back. It’s covered under Emissions Warranty.
However, I got another LG Chem battery that’s made in 2023, so not sure if I will need another replacement in 4 years.

When I mentioned the emissions warranty to my service rep he looked at me like I was crazy. SMH

Thanks! Before I went to the dealership, I called the SA to ensure if there’s any extended warranty on the battery. I had to ask him 4-5 times until he said yes, it would be covered in warranty if it met the criteria but he didn’t mention what the criteria was and I didn’t push for it over the phone. I got the video from the Technician later on and pretty much their criteria the same as the Technical Information for 12V Lithium-ion battery
I hope LG figured out by now what they originally screwed up and this one lasts longer for you.
We will know in 4 years. I hope they found the root cause and revised it.

Just to be clear, my car is out of factory warranty and no CPO nor aftermarket warranties.

FWIW when I was at Porsche Silver Spring the GM there told me that they had a customer with a dead LiPOS battery and they didn't think it would be covered. But then Porsche replaced it under the emissions warranty. So it has happened more than once.

That's good information. Could you please post a copy (photo with your phone) of the actual service invoice which identifies work codes and part numbers? This is what others can use to show their service advisors what needs to be done.
Think of this as medical billing. Wrong code = patient pays. Correct code = insurance pays.

If I may ask, how was the battery replaced under warranty? I've seen a lot of posts stating it was replaced under the Emissions Warranty which is an 8 year warranty. When I told my Porsche SA, he said the Emissions Warranty only applied to the hybrid high voltage battery. Which battery do you have?

Right, well you right, batteries themselves are consumables and not covered but I think the Emission Warranty covers the BECM (control module).. so there is an argument that as it's part of the battery system, it could be the cause of the dead battery and hence covered. Anyways, this does seem like a gray area somewhat and may depend on the dealer.
There is also a recall or defect or something that maybe could apply depending on circumstances? Honestly if we start seeing a lot of these failures it would be perhaps smart of Porsche NA to cover it, as it was a risky move going with untested lithium over AGM, and why should loyal customers have to deal with those issues.
They should not be failing like this.
On a side note I see someone on ebay is offering repairs to these batteries.
