My battery is dead this time. The car only sat for 3 whole days in garage but it was black out when I opened the door. I was able to jump start with another car (cannot jump with portable jump starter). Several warning lights (suspension, low battery, hand brake) but I could drive the car. I drove it for 25 minutes or so and the car went blacked out as soon as I switched off the engine. I've contact Anthony from Premier Autocare and Performance - Auto Repair Shop in Mineola and he will send me instruction on how to take the BMS board out for inspection/replacement. He said there's a potential to fried the capacitor on the BMS board if I jumped it a few times as he's seen it quite often but he said he could also get replacement board.

Let's see how it goes.

If your battery really dies in 3 days - that may be the end of the road... Resetting the BMS will not make the battery better. It only helps when your battery is still good, but died because of long long period without recharging. 3 days is too short.

Update on my dead battery.

Dropped the car off this morning at the dealership. They ran the diagnostic and said the battery failed and they will replace the battery under warranty. My Cayenne is MY19 and the factory warranty was expired in Aug 2023.

Thanks @ThaiGuy for sharing the battery information with me and good luck on yours!

Here's an update on my battery issue. 2019 Cayenne S (LiPo battery)

Recap - I got the dreaded low battery light back in Sept '23 and they tested the battery....it passed the tests and they did the programming campaign.

On Jan 20, 2024, I got the low battery message again and I scheduled a service (soonest date was in 10 days).

On Jan 21, 2024, The car was dead (no interior lights, etc.). I hooked up the CTEK and let it sit overnight.

On Jan 22, 2024, there was no change...deader than a door nail. Battery tested at 2.6v. Luckily, I had previously placed the transmission disconnect tool in the glovebox, so I put her in neutral manually (so we could get it out of my garage and in the street easier) and called for a CPO tow to the dealership. When the tow truck arrived, I tried to jump the battery with my LiPo battery booster and it started....so the tow driver drove it on the flatbed...easy! But I am glad I learned to use the transmission disconnect tool....good experience.

The dealership was busy, but got checked the car out on Jan 23 and tested the battery. It failed the tests. It was replaced for free via the CPO warranty.

Hopefully she is good to go for another 4 1/2 years (or more).

Great advice for all! If the battery is dead, you can’t open the rear hatch to access the tool located under the cargo floor. Glad it worked out for you.

I take the battery replacements under warranty to mean that Porsche has finally accepted that the battery or BMS or both are faulty. If I had a prior failure and had to pay $3k for a replacement, I would go straight to the GM and ask for reimbursement.

I learned that trick HERE! Somebody posted about it previously. This forum is a great learning tool! Thanks to those that share tidbits like this....it certainly helped me out.

Note that this was via the CPO warranty, not the factory warranty (if that matters). The CPO literature specifically states that it covers the battery.

My battery was NOT covered under my CPO warranty back in March of last year.
