Diesel Cayenne and VW emission issue

I hope that is the case. But, I'm starting to get the feeling they are doing everything to not give me the extension. I really don't care about the 8 years. I'm more interested in the 125k miles.

Speaking of warranty .. I already have a 6 year / 100K CPO warranty on my 2014 Cayenne TDI. So Porsche gave me .. nothing. If I understand correctly, Gen 2 Diesel owners may be stuck until May 2020 until we get a fix or a financial offer. Sounds like a war of attrition. I expected much better from Porsche. Meanwhile we've lost a huge chunk of value. I've started my email campaign with Porsche US.

If it was CPO'd after the factory extension, then you got fleeced and need to take it up with your dealer and probably a lawyer.

Given that they are trying to skip the buyback I think they are going to claim "not impacted as badly". Given that I think the best we'll see is to match the 2.0 compensation amounts and I won't be shocked (but will be pissed) if it's not half of what they got.

My hopes for fair compensation have so far been dashed. I read about a $1 Billion settlement amount for 3 liter diesels. If I assume 20,000 Gen 1 cars being bought back at $25K apiece, this leaves $500 Million for the remaining 60,000 of us. Meaning a combined repair + compensation of $8,300- apiece. If the buyback is at a higher amount, we're even less. Not much to compensate for what may be a 50% decline in the value of our TDIs today. I'd enjoy hearing other opinons on this.

June 2015. Funny thing is I traded in a 2010 Jetta TDI. Which was suffering from the high pressure fuel pump issue which VW refused to acknowledge. But which was all over the internet. Day after I traded the car in, I got an official VW Recall for the problem. Can't make this sh_t up!

Second, these cars depreciate like ROCKS. Just look at ALL the other cayenne models historically. I'm sorry but I don't see ANY or if so very little acceleration here at a quick back of napkin level compared to other models in the line.
Third, in the aftermarket, VERY few options actually add to the resale value of these cars. So you take a 55k MSRP (or whatever it was) car and then go add 30k in options, don't even expect to get that back on resale. A near base car with the basics will be worth about the same in the aftermarket.
Want a real humbling experience? Look at cayenne turbos.

Further to my Jetta TDI. It 100% stalled at highway speeds 2X on long trips, major inconveniences. My VW dealer insisted I had squirrels chewing my wiring harness and I needed a $3K+ new harness. Refused to even look at my internet printouts on the HP fuel pump issue. VW US also refused to acknowledge the issue. I had hoped for better from Porsche.
