Didn’t really do much to the car, but I gave its living quarters a much needed remodel. The wife got me a TV for the garage for Christmas, and what started out as a Sunday afternoon project of hanging it on the wall turned out to be a two week long minor-renovation. Ran new electrical for two wall outlets, Wi-Fi smart light switch, recessed lights and T5 4500k LED light strips.
After moving the toolbox out of the way to hang the TV, I realized it was in need of a serious rehab. The garage is pretty small, but I’m able to work out of it when I need to. I also have a fold out workout cage on one wall, and I also hang out in there a lot with friends & neighbors. So it needs to function as a workshop, gym, and mancave. The philosophy of the build is to be able quickly move things around to transform it into the space I need to use it for.
Anyway, on with the pics.
The Sunday afternoon project:
Wall cabinets for the far corner are on order. Ugly fridge is being replaced with a newer smaller unit to maximize the space. Currently debating on what to do with the floor. I fear that my desire for a bendpak flush mount scissor lift is going to lead me to demo’ing the floor and pouring a new slab. But… we’ll see.
Looks way better! Is that Link's shield from Zelda on the wall?
Thank you! Yes. That is the Hylian Shield and Master Sword from the LoZ series. And I am a nerd.
That's too funny. I loved playing LoZ on NES and SNES. They lost me on the N64 though. I see you're in the DMV as well. Do you ever go out to Katie's CAC or the PCA one out in Manassas?
Bought replacement lower dash parts so I can save my original leather versions. Recovered the replacement parts in Alcantara and installed today. Love the looks feels much more modern. No more scratches around the key!
So I did a thing. Apex wheels came out with a few centerlock options for the 997 and I pulled the trigger on their group buy. I have a set of Apex wheels on my M3 and they're great, so I expect the same here. Seeing how there are not many options out there for 19" centerlock wheels for the widebody 997, I'm pretty excited to get these later this year. I already have tires waiting!

Yep, I've had my eyes on those too! They are sweet!
So you went with the 9.5" Fronts, correct? Isn't that all they offered for the initial group buy? Is it okay for us to run 9.5 on the front? Interested to hear feedback because I was considering those same exact wheels.

I did because it's the only option for centerlocks unless you go with the 20s. From everything I can tell, they should fit with the ET50.
I can't wait either! The tires I have waiting are 245/35/19 for the fronts and 325/30/19 for the rears!
That's the size tires I plan to run too but with 9" fronts. I really like BC Forged KL12's in brushed clear and considering pulling the trigger on a set tomorrow. I can always sell them if the Group Buy doesn't work out.
This is Peter's beautiful Carrera that I keep coming back too in my searches across the web. I know he's a member here, but can't remember his user name. As a photographer too (side gig), I appreciate his skills and use of light. It really makes his Carrera shine.
I think the KL12's in brushed will contrast nice against black.
Now, off to try and count sheep before the big day tomorrow.
First oil change--since I purchased--today! First of many items I plan to work on next but this was a good start with good weather. I'm actually surprised of how little documentation is out there on the internet for certain projects I plan on doing. It seems like plenty of articles for the 997.1 but not .2.
