Default Replaced engine mounts and serpentine belt

Replaced the original mounts with new OEM mounts. And yes, they cost more than human body parts as they are the dynamic types in the 2010 997.2 TT. Hope to get the same 12 years out of them etc.

Also did the belt since the guts were removed and wasn't sure how old the prior belt was.

Pretty easy job replacing my first belt.

Old one on the left, new one on the right

Started the process of removing my turbos to get rebuilt / upgraded. First time getting my hands dirty on the car so I taking my time. Haven’t wrenched in a while and it’s good to get back into it!

Tial GT3071 R turbos about to be removed.

The process is underway, hope to pull out the turbos tomorrow.

Refinished / powder coated Champion Motorsport RS128 forged wheels and installed new titanium lug bolts from Acer.

New Acer titanium lug bolts

Interior barrels painted black to help hide the dirt…

Daughter helped clean the car - walked all over it in the process. 😂

So I'm back on my build. I hit a snafu with the left exhaust manifold. I ended up stripping out a hole in the block to tighten the new manifold down. I ended up re-threading for a 5/16 bolt and ordered some 5/16 exhaust bolts from Jegs and got everything on and tightened to the factory specs! Word to the wise: only hand tighten the manifold bolts until they need torqued. Any slight mistake and you will strip the hole and risk breaking the bolt in the engine block. So now both Fabspeed headers are on along with the IPD plenum and Y-pipe. Next this weekend is new spark plugs and ignition coils. Once those are done, the Fabspeed exhaust is next!

IPD Plenum.

IPD Y-Pipe

Stock items removed.

Fabspeed header versus stock manifold.

Tight clearance for the e12 bolts.

Work in progress.

Both headers on!

Looking great! Can’t wait to see the end result. Of course I’m partial to the yellow y-pipe 😁

Made some really good progress today. I installed an Eibach rear sway bar. Then I replaced the spark plugs and ignition coils. Lastly, I installed a Fabspeed exhaust. Next weekend I'll hopefully get the AWE intercoolers on and get her running again!

Eibach rear sway bar.

New ignition coils.

Old coils and spark plugs. The Lexivon 5/8" swivel magnetic spark plug socket, 3/8" Drive x 10", enhanced magnetic design with thin wall socket was instrumental in making this easy.

Fabspeed cats.

Fabspeed exhaust.

I'm jealous of some of you that are wrenching on your cars. I replaced the sticky ***** on my radio. I guess I could wash it or just live vicariously through some of you.

There is no worse feeling in the world, or creative combination of explicit words that follows that tight to loose feeling. And I don't care how long you've been wrenching, it happens. Car is looking good though.

Eibach rear sway bar.
What stiffness did you set it to? I put this in EOY last year and only driven on it a few times now. I have it in the middle stiffness and debating on going stiffer.

I went with the middle setting as well.

I finally got the AWE intercoolers on and clamped. I swapped out the hood emblem. Lastly, I did finally take her out for a test run but I'll post on that a little later. Need to gather a few more pics and adjust the exhaust tips. Coming together though!

Finally finished my "stage 1" work on the TTS and gave her a bath today. Next, she's getting Eibach springs, front sway bar, and all new cooling. After that I should have the new Apex centerlock wheels from the group buy. She's coming along. Here's a few new pics.

Default Pinning coolant lines and cams

Finally going back together, had to wait for some parts to arrive, still slow to get some on back order!

I'm contemplating replacing the dynamic engine mounts on my 2010 PDK Turbo. What improvements did you see after replacement? If a PDK, did you see an improvement in gear changes?

had my local customs shop paint the volcano grey of my 997.1 PCM stack trim to the default satin black of the 997.2. also installed new carbon fiber strip from MACarbon. my car was missing the cupholder strip when i bought it. trim from porsche is not available. the MACarbon trim looks very good - they were the only ones i could find that even adds the OEM drink graphic on the cupholder.

before

after

very happy with the results, looks so much better / more modern. i really hated that grey trim and could never unsee that missing patch of carbon.
