Built a custom forged carbon fiber overhead light console to fit my installed radar detector. Covered it in alcantara (no pix), as well as all the soft touch plastic pieces, and the back of the door handles.

Nice work! Question - when you covered the door sill, did you pop out the plastic piece that holds the buttons so you can cut the material larger than the hole and replace the plastic, leaving no seam? Or did you just cut the material exactly to its edge and glue it? I wanted to do the same thing with mine but couldn't see how to get the plastic button holder out without breaking something. Thanks.

I removed the buttons and made it slightly larger and then popped the buttons back in. They come out as one long piece, I remember once I could see the backside it made sense how to remove them. I don't remember right this second tho.

As for the other question on how I made the forged part, that was my first time doing something like that. Watched a bunch of videos on youtube first. Made a reverse mold, and then made the part in the mold. I had hoped the mold would be re-usable, but it was not because of mistakes I made. I still have the original part to put on when I sell it if they want, that was my goal. But the radar detector is now fully built in and looks like it was made to go there, because it was.

@Ryans Rebel Gotta say - the gt2 wheels are FANTASTIC!!!

I have been looking for a set - I abhor the stock TT wheels - and would love a set to compliment mine....

I actually drove mine - to a C&C and then to a haircut finally after 15 weeks of lockdown!
Love this car!!

I looked for several months before i found a set of GT2 wheels. GT3 wheels will work but you have to run a large spacer at the rear. Hold out for the GT2 rears if you can. The fronts are the same on the GT2 & GT3.
