The 997 GT3/RS Cars For Sale Thread...

ya BAT has softened in the last few weeks…but so has attendance so could just be the holiday.
I got my .2 RS from BAT yesterday, all seemed expected cosmetically at that mileage.
However it won’t downshift shift into 1st… have to be almost stopped to grind it in. The owner told me he would never downshift an RS into first so it’s a non-issue Drola was helping me diagnose… maybe synchros…so it has a shop appointment in a week. Also sounds like one of the rotors is warmped… but they are ceramic so that prob not it lol we’ll see.

Non-issue to him, but should be disclosed. People are so f*cked. When I was 18 I bought a 1959 Morris Minor with a bad synchro and the old bastard that sold it to me said it was "simply an adjustment" of the shifter. It continues to surprise me today what people do.The good news is it was a good price so you have a little buffer.

I bought a 71 Honda CB750 off of BAT that had an oil leak that wasn't disclosed. Ticked me off. I'd have probably still bid on it and been happy with the purchase but instead it left a bit of a bad taste. Everyone hates surprises. This is on a different level though as this repair could be many thousands of dollars. There's no way that seller didn't know there was a significant issue with the gearbox and the big $$$ rotors.

We all have our stories about some sellers. I learned on muscle cars and 356 Porsche's. Due diligence and seeing the car in person. I flew from Colorado to look at a "rust free" 1965 sunroof SC in Florida. Sellers representative was a car appraiser so I believed him when he said rust free. Got there looked at the car and promptly called the guy a "f%#king" liar. I was ready to throw down on him. I had to walk away. I was so mad. Rust was all over the car. It was a good lesson that cost me about $2k but better than $80K.

You’re probably right. I haven’t seen one of these GT cars (or probably haven’t noticed) where the carpet has started to sag in this recess especially as bad as this car.
