I know this car personally. Know the previous owner pretty well and know of the current owner. As far as I know all of the parts to do the .2 conversion are OEM. It looks fantastic in person. Had this car parked next to mine many times in 2019 and drove it once.

Also, in North America, all .1 GT3’s came with a sunroof. .1 RS’ did not come with a sunroof. Then all .2 GT3’s and RS’ did not come with a sunroof.

 

The Speed Yellow .1 at Autokennel now shows sale pending.

 

The seller stated that he also has the original factory rear bumper, etc.

Yeah sorry, I was taking the ****. The seller referred to the sunroof as a ‘rare option’ for GT3s which isn’t really the case because it wasn’t an option at all.

No problem, just wanted to specify, especially as I was not sure if you were in Europe, where I think the 997.1 GT3 did not come with a sunroof.

Oh and that makes sense on why you mentioned it, when I responded to the comment, I had not even read the full description on the car.

I don't really have any specific history on the car. The guy that I know picked it up in spring of 2019, had it serviced at our local dealer Porsche North Olmsted, I think he had a suspension component or two replaced of some sort. He put it on a set of HRE R101LW wheels, I believe then had fresh clear film put on it (I don't know if it has ceramic coating or not). He sold the set of stock wheels. He then had it put on the set of HRE's that are on there now. Cannot comment on over revs or paint work. I don't think it had any 3+ over revs on it, not sure if it had any 1s or 2s. But there's plenty of shops and two dealers in the area that could check that along with paint meter readings for you. This was two years ago that he owned the car, so it's hard for me to remember all details and I never like to over-ask about these small little details on someone else's car.

All that work and nothing was done to the mechanical side? Seems like it would have been cheaper to start with a real RS and convert the roof to go down.

 

Hello RennListers, Looking for a 997.1 GT3 in the range of 100k-112k. Im located in Los Angeles and ready to buy. Missed out on the yellow one from Auto Kennel, been doing google searches but nothing new is coming up. Any help or leads would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Wicked Motor Works makes some of the strangest "Look at me" cars ever. They often times start with a wrecked car including salvage title since they replace so many body panels. It's strange because if you look at some of the parts that they make out of carbon fiber the workmanship looks good but the design is Pimp Daddy Mack. I mean that's some tacky sh*t.

 

You're doing the right thing. I would also put a wanted ad here and on the PCA website and if there's a way to put wanted ads on any for sale site do that too. Your budget is at the bottom of what they sell for, so you need to strike a balance between doing your due diligence and getting a car scooped right before your eyes. Set up searches on every website like Autotrader with instant notification. And check in here. Good luck to you.
