That car sold to BaT user "Snaveed". If you look at his history, he has paid way over expected selling price on several cars. He's bought seven 911s and three R8s just in the last three months. Based on the cars, he doesn't fit the profile of a collector. Based on prices paid, he doesn't fit the profile of a dealer. Strange.....

Aren't the price increases actually driven by buyers' willingness to pay the "ridiculous" prices? I don't blame the intermediaries...it comes down to supply and demand.

The fact that some dealers are now willing to pay more than most private parties makes me think that many of them will be stuck with expensive inventory they can't move without taking a loss.
EDIT: my comments above are related to normal, good-faith, buying and selling by dealers. I'm not commenting in defense of anyone shill bidding or engaged in other forms of price manipulation.

Of course they are. And private buyers have the same opportunity as dealers to purchase in these same online auctions. Highest bidder wins. Doesn't matter if you're a private party, a dealer, or Martian. I guess we could technically blame the sellers for "allowing" dealers to purchase their cars, but let's be realistic, how many of us would take less from a private party than what a dealer was willing to pay? Sure, I'd forgo a few $K to see my car end up in the hands of the next enthusiast, but not $10k or $20k.

From my previous post I was trying to say exactly what your last sentence says "The fact that some dealers are now willing to pay more than most private parties makes me think that many of them will be stuck with expensive inventory they can't move without taking a loss." I think that is going to happen.

Sold for $214k including fees thus way surpassing the 2k mile .2 GT3 on Pcarmarket. Madness! Who is this Snaveed guy? He bids like crazy on so many auctions. Is he a dealer and/or someone trying to drive up and corner the market? I never see him resell the cars he has bought. Is he a collector, but doubt it.

He’s bidding on the Orange .1 RS BAT auction. Can’t imagine what he’ll do there.

He just started bidding on June 10 and has 14 auction wins
I am pretty good at super stalking and I think I know who he is. And he's not a dealer, exporter, or anything like that. So hey, he digs cars. Not much different than any other collector. Bully for him.
