As mentioned, I’m new to the group, but am keen to meet up with other enthusiasts at a local c&c. This is my first Porsche, but a GT3 has been my sole goal since I saw my first 996 GT3 in 2001, and the desire to own a 997 only got stronger as NA engines an manual transmissions started disappearing. I hope I didn’t pay over the odds for the vehicle, to tell you the truth I wasn’t ready to buy, but I can’t buy a vehicle without seeing it for myself, so when one came up a few miles from me, and in the right condition, I decided to jump on it.
looking forward becoming part of the group.
comgrats man. Sounds like an amazing find. You’ll enjoy the crap out of it for sure. I’ve only had mine since April and already put 1000miles on it. Literally can’t stop driving it.

definitely go book an appointment to get it paint corrected and ceramic coated and Xpel PPF pronto. Way too many debris in the local mountains and back roads. You’ll get hooked driving this thing!

1 owner California car in a rare color w/ PCCB and low miles w/ CPO. And all original. And two sets of rotors. It looks amazing and I didn't even see rock chips on the wheels which are so common.

A similar car with none of that was at South Bay Porsche and it obviousely had been tracked quite a bit. I forget if it was $140 or $150. Even at $140k not as nice. No PCCB They could have gotten $150k for it. Any of the other .2s selling lately were not nearly as nice.

Hope the new owner doesn't mind me bragging and showing the beauty of his car!

@samwise and @Bxstr are correct on Xpel. On my car I did the whole rear bumper, front hood and fenders, and rocker panels along the bottom. And enlarge the factory piece in front of the rear wheels. Mirrors. My guy always puts it inside the door handle area in case you ever date a girl with Lee Nails. I have carbon fiber door jambs to be covered that too. California mountains will cause a lot of damage quick. I like to use my stuff and it's emotionally freeing to not sweat that stuff.

congrats on the purchase! Would love to see it in person if you are local in the bay area and go for a drive next time. Currently looking into getting into a 997 gt3 for the next P car.

Thank you Upscale Audio, I don’t mind at all, in fact your photos are better than the ones I took on in the day in all the excitement (my wife asked me to download for us), and your, Samwise, and bxstr’s feedback as far more knowledgeable people than I is much appreciated.

Hi everyone! I am looking to buy my first GT3 and I am in line to buy this one:

https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/invent...ting=306436475

I saw this one mentioned in passing in previous posts in this thread but does anyone have any info on this car's history or does anyone have any thoughts on this deal

Apparently A ppi was done and DME shows that there are no overrevs outside of range one. Also, the PPI has stated the front control arms need to be replaced. Any insight from you guys would be amazing!

You and me both, I always swap cars and want something new, but this car is nirvana for me ‘my personal Singer’....

Joe (bxstr) wrote up a little about this car from memory a few years back. Sounds like a solid car given an available ppi and clean dme...can't imagine control arms being an "arm" and a leg. Good luck.

Thanks Joe - yeah, if the DME checked out and the PPI says the car is good, I can’t think of a reason not to buy it. Not sure who did the PPI, but you could send it to one of a couple shops around here and get the control arms done with OEM parts (without the Porsche logo but with who originally made the parts) for less than what a dealer would charge with genuine parts. Keep us posted with what you decide.

Someone needs to buy this bad boy:

Here is listing.. asking $220k....
https://www.paganibeverlyhills.com/u...ource=cars.com

Then add these...
https://www.suncoastparts.com/product/997GT3SEATS.html

https://www.suncoastparts.com/product/GT3RSWHEEL.html

And if you can find a 997.1 Tequipment Club Sport rear cage in matching orange then it would be perfect! If I didn't just blow a sizeable load on a 7.2 RS, I would do this.
