I don't follow the GT Car markets, because at 76 I want sunroof and numerous lux options. But am here to say the Bureau of Labor reports used car prices up about 30% in the past year. Read a story in the Journal talking about it, and they mentioned one dealer asking $10,000 ADM for a Kia Telluride!
I've been following the markets for high end 991.2 Carreras and Turbo cars. The are CERTAINLY, averaging 15+% for Carrera S and GTS, and 25+% for Turbo S cars, and not the higher priced dealer cars. A dealer was asking $299,000 on Rennlist, for a new 992 Turbo S!

I get that everyone is on the whole "bRo CaSh In HaNd BuY nOw Or MiSs tHe BoAt FoReVeR" kick, but markets ebb and flow and while I like the 997 ERA GT Cars I'm not going to pretend that it will bring me eternal happiness and I should therefore act irrationally.
Yes - I traded my last GT3 for my current RS

https://www.countryautoblair.com/inv...che/911/p2158/

The cons I see:
No manual/service records(although they are on carfax)
One key
Various owners

Pros:
seemingly rare-ish spec
FVD exhaust
nose lift actually still works really well (good thing too because the bottom spoiler is painted from factory)
lowish miles
clean dme with only range 1 and a long time ago

Nose lift wasn't an option on 997.1, so if this car has it then it's aftermarket

It was for sale before at Mark Motors. Always google the VIN of any car you are thinking of buying. It had black wheels on it before. Painting the from air splitter gloss black is strange but I guess why not. Did they use a paint meter on it? Also how do they claim it's never been tracked? Please.....

Mark Motors listing

If you need a PPI Blair is about 30-40 miles from Omaha and you could contact these folks. You could even have them do it mobile but don't expect in-depth without the car being on a lift. The place is called Star Class Motors the only downside is I wanted a lot of pictures and didn't get them. But they are very nice and willing to please.

Just at a cursory glance, I'm seeing some oxidation in the engine bay (& no under carriage photos, and since this is being sold in Nebraska, you'll want to see those).
Sounds like you already have the carfax, so you can see where this car has lived most of it's life.
... maybe you have already received under-body, suspension & under-engine pics from the seller already.

Some of the rubber grommets look to have that white powdery surface.

What are those two scuff marks on the underside of the engine lid? (& since it is on both sides, it makes me think it is not a light reflection in the photo).

Re: your comment that this is a "rare-ish" spec - In your opinion is that due to painted console, stitching, PCM & seats? ... or is it the "right" spec for your tastes. You won't use the PCM much.

Of course, as everyone here will say: Understanding how much maintenance updates it will need, can be the difference in $10k (Brakes/Rotors? Fluids? Tires (date code)? etc?)

You also mentioned "clean DME", which is great. But a related Question: Did you do a calculation on the average speed over the course of this cars 25.6k miles? (miles/operating hours)
If it is under,... lets say 40 mph, then you may be able to discern that it was a street car most of its life. Babied street cars seem to be in the 30mph - 35 mph range.

Car looks nice, especially if the spec speaks to you. Good luck with your pursuit!
Thanks for your thorough input! Got undercarriage shots and everything looks great. Only a Nebraska car from 08/20 otherwise a San Antonio area car for most of its life. Calculated ave. mph and got 35.8 so looks like it was at least mildly "babied." Thanks for that, btw, I had never thought about that measure for the health of a car.

I did see that prior listing and the black wheels, the wheels on this are originally "silver" (I know that's not the proper paint name) is that correct? I believe the splitter was painted from the factory on this one too. Seems to have been an option.

Paint meter markings are as follows:Pass fender 11.02 mils (clear bra)

Pass Door 3.84

Rear Quarter 4.40

Driver fender 10.94 mils

Driver Door 3.78

Driver Quarter 3.84

Roof 3.52 – 3.10 – 3.85 mils

Hood 11.26- 11.30 mils (clear bra)

BTW, all 22 have been winners as well.

Nothing drives me as cRaZy as dealing with a prospective buyer who wants to exchange 40+ emails (that has happened more then once), demands an equal number of photos but refuses to see the car in person, even if I promised to hold it for a couple of days. I learned my lesson to never, ever do that again.

Money or a money transfer talks! Have your funds ready before you start searching for "the right" GT3 version that you are after. The way the market currently is, there are more buyers than sellers and there is no need for sellers to babysit a buyer who isn't a close friend or ready to buy. Three weeks ago I sold my daily driver 2019 Jeep Cherokee in ONE DAY to a local dealer for $1,500 more than I paid for it brand new including tax and the ancillaries. I advertised it on FB Marketplace and 3 other local dealers wanted to buy it after the first one had already taken it. The car market is nuts right now (supply & demand) and not just regarding certain Porsches.

Just my opinion, guys. I'm not a dealer and never have been associated with one, but I've bought and sold a lot of cars that I liked over the years.
I sold my car to a great guy. No hassles, willing to come put eyes on it and super easy to deal with. I still have to gather all my service records for him and get to him. He got a deal. I could have held out and made another 10k but time is money and Id rather go make another 10k at work than deal with picky people.

Lucky indeed. They have the right power to weight, right feel and just enough playfulness that all adds up to one of the best driving experiences available.

Congrats Zac! Glad you found the right car for you and glad you’re enjoying the drive so far. I know you have some experience with other Porsche’s and glad this one stands out.

With a relatively light weight body, 500hp is plenty. Take a MAC 720S and see how the numbers climb. It takes hardly anything and you are in the danger zone. We have reached the pinnacle of automotive perfection. Anything more and it’s just to flex on the Instagram users

I drove it with stock exhaust this morning and thought it was great. Then installed a gmg and it just sounds like im in a race car. It screams; it is kind of hard to describe. Still have not hit redline yet either. I have reached driving nirvana!

Can't believe a Porsche dealer (Porsche Barrington) is giving this a go for 110k. This is the one that's been on sale in Texas for ages recently for 89k at super cars San Antonio and been we'll documented history in RL.

I'm a little lost. Is this the one that hit a tire wall? When did that happen? At how many miles?

Hello Samwise & the Rennlist 997 GT3 group, my name is Kieron (new member today), and I’m the new owner of the 2010 meteor grey .2 GT3 mentioned above (WP0AC2A93AS783292) . As mentioned, I’m new to the group, but am keen to meet up with other enthusiasts at a local c&c. This is my first Porsche, but a GT3 has been my sole goal since I saw my first 996 GT3 in 2001, and the desire to own a 997 only got stronger as NA engines an manual transmissions started disappearing. I hope I didn’t pay over the odds for the vehicle, to tell you the truth I wasn’t ready to buy, but I can’t buy a vehicle without seeing it for myself, so when one came up a few miles from me, and in the right condition, I decided to jump on it.
looking forward becoming part of the group.
