It wasn’t a standard color. See brochure:

There's a couple variations of colors within Porsche. There is what is offered free by Porsche. In the case of the 997.2 GT3RS that was Carrara White and Aqua Blue. Then there was Gray Black, which also was a standard color, which to me means that anyone can order it. It cost $3140, I believe. But yes, it was optional and you had to pay for it. However, you originally said it was PTS, which is what I was mentioning above by saying standard, it was not PTS. I typically separate out colors into standard (anyone can order) and PTS (which typically means you would need to order at a certain time to be able to get PTS). Paint to sample would be if you wanted your car painted in Rosso Corsa Red from Ferrari. Porsche isn't going to offer this as a standard optional color, you would need to do PTS to get this.

Grey/Black is def not PTS.......there’s tons of them out there. Like you said....Optional, but Standard Color

https://rennlist.com/forums/997-gt2-...t-them-up.html

Grey/Black was used in all the marketing material for the 997.2 GT3RS.....so, it can’t be a PTS

On another note....best PTS RS combos out there? Mine would easily be Riviera Blue, Guard Red, and Speed Yellow.....kinda classic Colors lol

Carrara White was also added as a special color later on as customers requested they add it. It was a free color on every 997 GT3/RS except on the .1 RS which was a $4300 color option.

Plus, Carrara White cars came with no decals or deviated accents accept for the rear wing end plates which were black. You could add the graphics and deviated accents back, but that would cost extra $$$.

I was trying to convince my father to trade in his gt4 for this car. It is local to him in NY. Seller wanted 175 which seemed pretty fair. My guess is he will get that on BaT maybe slightly more. Looks really clean.

Don’t want to turn this thread Into a color discussion. Grey black was an optional color on the 997.2 gt3rs and also the launch color. Nonetheless a special color for that model and currently you need to order it as PTS for any new car. White and black are standard colors so IMHO I consider the grey black a more special 997.2 gt3rs (putting aside some bias )

Isn't Gray Black the most common color for a 997.2 GT3 RS? If so, there is a reason for that...they look great!

Picture 144 and 145 show minor oil weeping on the engine case. Is this normal? Causes?
