What do you all think this realistically should be purchased for?
well the delta between the non RS and the RS has never been 100k, I would say it's cheap right now. Not to mention that this car is optioned real nice.

That is a strong sale for sure, good job Doug!

I too was very pleased working with him on trading in my 996TT and buying Mike’s RS.

Thanks Ikon, I saw that popped up yesterday and was wondering about it. No prices tho, any idea what something like that would go for?

Range 2 and 3 overrev probably kept the prices down a bit

Edit: Didn't realize it's an RS. Probably $200k+.

Car was on Autotrader by a private seller less than a week ago for $240k. It’s listing on PCA Mart is still up at $240k.

agree - "buy it now"

heck, I couldn't be happier with the deal I got from Doug, what timing too seemed it was just before the run up

also, a rising tide lifts all boats!

That was ugly.
Still, I think $115 was a good deal for the buyer since many 7.1s are selling for 100k +/- 10K and it had $43k worth of engine work done.
I wish I had met eggorian 6 months ago.....................
I saw, smelled, touched, heard the car the day before it sold.
Buyer did well.

Edit: talking about the recent sale of the 997.1 Sharky on BaT.

Because it happens that quick. Car was priced at $125k. EDIT: As I was told by the private party trying to buy it. That's a nice flip. It's a lot of work but you are up against allthingporsche.com, switchcars, Marshall Goldman, and all the other players.

I don't blame him for making a lot of money on it. He's in business. It's great that he helps out here, and he's an enthusiast. So glad it was him that snagged it.

But the great fact is these deals do happen and I think about the guys I see posting here that are getting priced out of the market. And try as they might they may never realize THEIR dream. You may have all the jack in the world. So while you celebrate it, they get bummed out. I don't have a budget worry either, but recognize others do.

I guess I should be happy to have two cars that are appreciating. But Jesus. That's all. Party on.

Doug bought that white RS for $125K and just BaT'd it for $235K? Am I understanding you correctly?

If so, good for Doug (anyone, really) but what year did that car bring $125K??

The discussion is around 2 different white 997 GT3's. One is a standard GT3.1 The other one that sold today on BaT is an RS.1 I seriously doubt Doug bought the RS for $125K. That indeed would have been a steal.

Uhhh...that's a no. It was the RS. Plus fees. What standard .1 GT3 would any dealer pay $125k for to re-sell? . I'm not speaking only of him I'm speaking of the MARKET, and while it's nice "we got ours" I feel for those that see it has gone even further out of their reach. Similar bullsh*t in my industry. Regardless, I don't have any more comments on this.

If you think Doug is dictating the market, you have it all wrong. Sure it's great to look back and think you woulda shoulda done something. Fact is that Doug took a risk and this one payed off. How many other risks didn't pay off? Sorry, I refuse to get upset about a single episode of a dealer making bank. Good for him.
