The 997 GT3/RS Cars For Sale Thread...

My experience attempting to sell my GT3 here a few years ago was awful and I would never attempt again.
The Cliff Notes version is that every lowballer, tire-kicker and dreamer that was supposedly in the market for a GT3 came out of the woodwork. None of them would come to look at and drive the car, which had 40K miles (OMG!! High Mileage!!) but was never tracked, has a 100% clean DME, nicely optioned with full leather, nav, etc and is a recent PCA concours winner. In other words, a "cars & coffee" special. One so-called buyer bailed at the last minute after promising to buy after I made the mistake of not asking for a deposit and two others supposedly wanted it "after they sold their current car" which weren't Porsches.
I will never, ever understand why a serious prospective buyer would spend GT3 money without ever seeing or driving the car first. Because a plane ticket costs too much?? And then there are the buyers who don't have the funds ready....
In the unlikely event that I ever do decide to let it go, sorry, it will not be advertised on Rennlist. Too much buyer drama here.

Ugh, that sucks, and I'm sorry to hear that. Unfortunately it can be similarly frustrating on the buyer side, too, as I'm currently experiencing. It's a full time job hunting for one of these things and so hard to get a straight answer on anything - probably because of the number of inquiries sellers are getting, as you mention.

OTOH, I've had very good luck buying GT cars sight unseen, including 2 ea. GT3s, 1 GT4 and my current RS

There's a deposit on it as of this morning (not mine). I almost put a deposit down on Saturday but walked away because I couldn't get over the aftermarket headunit hack-job, which some will find to be a silly reason and they're probably right. I'm already getting a rash of **** about it from a buddy. It seemed like a decent car otherwise.
Look at these two pictures. Pretty rough. Maybe better in person? Still...I don't get it.

Anyway, it wasn't the one for me (too picky!!) or at least it had enough I didn't like to stop me from flying down there on a whim. I don't imagine they took much off the price so quickly but who the hell knows anymore.

Yea I have the guys working on it on down time. I did one on my Alfa Romeo and it was easier. Just an Osmo tracking my face on a tripod. I'll get it done maybe next week.
What's the story on this grey RS w/ 8600 miles? Their website says one owner. If O'Gara sold it before that's not true. Too bad the PCCB's were swapped out. At least for my wants.
It had 7576 miles in Nov 2015 Crazy.

I second this. Just purchased my .1RS sight unseen and am happy with my purchase. I didn't even get a PPi. Just extensive conversation with the sellers and I was confident in what they stated, I would be getting.

I hear you. No idea on price but it went under deposit the same day the pics went up. I'd had some sent to me before the main photos went live but they were cell phone pics so not the same.
Anyway, it wasn't the one for me (too picky!!) or at least it had enough I didn't like to stop me from flying down there on a whim. I don't imagine they took much off the price so quickly but who the hell knows anymore.

I know two private deals for better .2s (Buckets / Better Options) at 110 / 115 happen this week

That's good to know. I wish I could find one at those prices but I'm clearly unconnected.

If you see something you like that is just priced too high (based on what you're comfortable paying) - sit on it and wait. If it sells, then it wasn't meant to be. If it doesn't sell, make an offer. What's the worst they could say?
