Auction doesn’t seem to be off to a great start. A lot of uncertainty and think it will result in a no sale. Also states it as a euro example, but stickers around the car are in Japanese. Think correct term would be to call it a RoW car as it looks like a Japanese-market example.

The real question is, will the seller update his ad? Currently reads:

I don't think it was ever pinned, and I don't think it was ever tracked. I never had intentions of doing so either, so I never had it done.
Which is definitely far from the truth.

If he bought it in 2013 and has never tracked it since, 14 track days total since new is nothing. These cars were marketed as cars that are very capable on track, so I would expect any GT3 I've bought to have seen some track time

Not sure why everyone has issues with a car that's been tracked, most people do normal DE days and don't go at 10/10ths. I track my car a few times a year but probably maintain it better than garage queens and essentially give my tech an "open check book" at time of service.

I'm assuming you're talking about mine. I still stand by that I didn't know it was tracked, as I have the emails from Hennessey stating as much. Since you seem to imply there is something nefarious going on here, I am happy to post them.

That said, are we saying a tracked car is now worth....less?

It’s not a huge deal as long as it was driven well, properly maintained, and not abused or neglected. A lot of guys did do this, but some didn’t. If the car is well cared for and maybe a few upgrades one being pinning the coolant lines the car should work without issues. These cars were built for the track and they can take a good beating. Remember they ran a 997.2 GT3 RS at the Nurburgring 24 hours and it ran without any mechanical issues. Finished 13th overall. They had to make some changes to comply to class regulations (slightly stiffer springs, different wheels and tires, roll cage, etc.) but the powertrain was completely stock.

Even the guys who think they're driving 10/10ths in DE days arent' actually (speaking from experience in W2W racing). As long as the car was properly maintained and not put into a wall, I wouldn't be concerned. You can tell pretty quickly from an inspection whether a car is in good shape or not...the fact that it's been tracked shouldn't be an immediate negative.

Because some of the people attempting to cast doubt on the car, are the same ones trying to buy it....which out of principal, I'll sell at a lesser amount to another buyer.

As long as the car is maintained properly, doesn't matter if it was tracked or not IMO...

Buyers need to do their due diligence when buying any used car!

I agree that tracking these cars is no big deal. But that ad has statements that have been demonstrated to be false. So why not amend and disclose?

I have no interest in seeing emails from Hennessy Porsche when they were trying to sell the car, lol. Benefit of doubt is out the window at this point.

I'm not sure why you continue to beat this dead horse, but I'm not concealing anything. I found out yesterday, the car belonged to a forum member. A whopping 2 hours before you post, I was talking with Peter about his month of ownership so I could understand the history of the car. Past that, some of us have jobs to do in between living on RL.

haha I know right! I thought I would just post it at a fair price and sell it. I am not in the car business, nor do I want to be. I sold my PTS 991 touring at basically sticker, same with the RS. ACR-E I sold 100 under market because it was easy and someone came with a check and gave me a ROFR. If someone can make money on it for their time, I'm fine with it. CARS ARE THERAPY NOT WORK.

Weed out the noise, and when you get around to it, add the details in the FS ad and go from there. Seems like youve been around the block. Your doing something right , so keep it up and enjoy the toys.

most importantly your RS looks amazing, love the subtle touches. Sell another car damnit! Hahaha

PPS …. From being on the board for a while a large portion of the GT cars have been tracked. And having an owner who didnt spare much expense on maintaining the car is a huge plus. Alot of us have read the stories of these “garage queens” before so anyone buying s GT should do their own due diligence anyway.
