This car does not qualify for show and display as this model was brought to the US. A 996 GT3 RS or 997 Sport Classic qualify as they weren’t sold here, but 997.1 GT3 RS was. Also they take rarity into account, but that doesn’t matter if the model was offered in the US.
I'm with you here. If I ever picked up a .2 RS (especially with red accents), one of the first things I'd do is de-lipstick the car with a good paint shop. Probably sacrilegious to some...

I wonder if you could argue that the Club Sport version was never available in the US? Probably not worth the hassle though...
This is the same car @ HBI Auto I believe...Watch this guys videos on his headaches with this car. Originally bought with a 997.2 front bumper. He converted to back to a 997.1 bumper. In process of doing the conversion discovered it is using the front knuckle from a turbo instead of a GT3. Who else knows what else is going on...

Also de-lipsticked mine. But i just had it vinyl wrapped gloss black. It isn't perfect due to the complexity of the space but gets the job done and is easily reversible.
Only have seen 1 Grey Black (possibly one other though that one doesn’t have PCCB’s) like this from the factory. Optioned with Customization Package DZH. Sorry pictures aren’t great quality as they were taken from 2010 or 2011.

Yeah it's almost certainly the car in question. He says in one of videos from a couple months ago that he worked out a deal for HBI to buy it back, now they're trying to pass it off to another unsuspecting buyer.... scummy.

Twin to mine as well. When I purchased, the decals had been deleted. I also then had the coolant lines pinned, the PCCBs replaced with steel rotors, and the 5 lug conversion done. A year of so later I had taller uprights and a larger rear wing installed. This are magnificent cars and I absolutely LOVE mine. Wishing you both great luck and much enjoyment with our triplets.
