I see a fellow Rennlist member's car on Autotrader for $160k. Wonder why it's still available? A .2 driver for a reasonable price. I don't think it can get any more driver than this example. Why is this car still available?
I don't think anyone is going to be getting a .2 driver for a good deal any time soon. There are only two .2s on auto trader that actually have a price, and the cheapest listed price is $190k... youch.
“good deal” is a relative term. All base GT3s are good deals when compared to the RS version. The so-called enthusiast will have 99% of the thrill, at only 66% of the cost.
None of these cars are cheap and they never will be in the foreseeable future. But they are still a good value.

Interesting.... That car doesn't show up in any of my auto trader searches. In fact I don't see any private seller cars. Any chance the sold it, and the direct link still works? When I follow your link I can see the car, but I can't find it on my own.

my thoughts exactly.
I think all these poor enthusiasts who supposedly got priced out of the market are the typical tire kickers who were complaining about prices even when these cars were $100k. They won’t pull the trigger no matter how cheap. Always a reason not to buy. Yeah, it sucks if you dreamed of a 997 and now can’t afford one but that’s a first world problem. If you’re a true driving enthusiast and don’t want to cough up a lot of dough, get yourself a 987 Cayman for 30-50k, have a blast driving what is one of the purest Porsches,, and thank God every day that you’re lucky enough to enjoy such toys. We’re all very blessed.

The cars aren't really worth any more now than they were 5 years ago, only the dollar itself has changed. When I bought mine, it was just under $90k. The cost of the car was a little less than half of what a decent small family house would cost in my area. If I sold mine for double the dollar amount that I paid, that amount of money is still a little less than half of what a decent house costs here. That's probably a decent part of the reason why people aren't unlading them now that they are "up". What would I do with an extra $80k? nothing. It's more fun to use it in the car than it would be to park it in my 401k or some other portfolio.... so even if someone came up to me and offered full market price no questions asked, I have no motivation to let it go. If I could take that money and buy an RS or something better, maybe I would. But there aren't many cars better, and certainly not for short money.

Fayaree didn't put GT3 in his search parameters. That car should have been sold by now. He's cutting himself short.
Here's how to find it.

I've wondered about this one, too. The ask is maybe a little high for the mileage, but not obscene. I got within 10k of his ask for my "high mileage" ~40k Basalt car. It's well-sorted. Presentation could be better.

I don't think I would have found that car when I was searching. I wasn't going to wade through carreras to look for mis categorized GT3s. He should definitely update it!

yeah something went wrong with my listing. I can’t even search for it myself because it’s somehow classified under the “private marketplace” section. I’ll try to update but I’m also in no hurry to sell
Autotrader is stupid. I tried to explain to their customer service ages ago (in October) that their “Private Seller Exchange” section doesn’t allow listings to show up in search results in the normal, larger marketplace. They kept insisting it showed up despite my screenshots proving it didn’t and then I just gave up.
I deleted the listing and tried to relist without paying for the “private seller exchange” service and it won’t let me, saying the car is already listed *facepalm*
So I’ll wait till customer service reopens tomorrow.
CarGurus is even stupider because it forced me to get a cash offer when I tried to list my car, and they made the generous offer of $50k LMAO, and when I try to list, I keep getting an error that there is an active offer for my car. Send a chat message to cancel the offer and they say someone will get back to me in 1-2 business days.
If I really wanted to sell right now I’d go to an auction but as said above, I’m not a very motivated seller unless someone offers what I’m asking.
I’ve been chatting with a local via Facebook marketplace that seems pretty serious but no money where their mouth is yet.
Might wait till spring and raise the price as demand generally goes up.
