Yea, I'm not liking the paint mismatch and misalignment of the hood in relation to the front bumper and forward section of the fender. The headlights look spotless for a car with 28k miles. They even look newer than the rears. Also the bolts holding on the rear bumper all from different areas of the car.
Eagle eyes! Thanks for the insight. Agreed that gaps are off at the front bumper to the fenders/hood. I hope to find a grey/black w/ whitegold wheels one day.
I can confirm it sold as I bought it from them. Rather not go into detail on what I paid specifically as it gets muddy with trades etc but all in all, it’s in alignment with recent sales and listings given condition and mileage.
Don’t care for the decal delete cars with the painted contrasting accents remaining as most of these examples were. Only way to get rid of these was through special wishes which I’ve only seen a few done like this.
Maybe it was wrecked? Seems like that’s often a reason someone does something like this. When its originality is shot, and a salvage resto shop gets their hands on it, this is often the result. That being said, I have no idea if that was the reason; I’m just speculating based on a few examples like this I’ve seen in the past.

It has had a collision w/ the barrier on the highway and the right rear 1/4 was replaced. The paint work is poor and there's some bubbling around the taillamp forming. A little rust was noted on the edge of the inner 1/4 too. Both front rocker areas near the front tire are worn down to bare metal. Crazy for a low mileage car, but I suspect it's grippy tires and been thrashed. Interior headliner was removed and the cassette was cut/cracked (?) to fit the rollcage crudely. All interior panels are really scuffed up from throwing the harnesses around. There's even a mark on the middle of the dashboard. The decklid is refinished really poor with zip ties holding the mesh and the underside of the wing has lots of paint flaking off. The left rear taillamp was cracked and repaired. The car was low on coolant. The homemade diffusers are sheetmetal and rattle like crazy. The mirror plastic trim was all busted. I'm sure there's more, but that's what I remember off the top of my head right now.
god bless this thread!
these posts popped up from 2020 when I offered to help out a prospective buyer of my GT3 (kind soul) who asked for my opinion on this 7.1 sitting in NC:
listed for $140k and dealer accepted verbal offer of $128k from my new friend. I was surprised at the immediate drop from the dealer, lol. Wonder if they know the history too. Possible that all the issues pointed out 3.5 years ago could have been addressed but definitely told my guy to tread carefully and have everything inspected thoroughly. I can also just advise him to drop it altogether if the collective wisdom advises so!

I'm with you here. If I ever picked up a .2 RS (especially with red accents), one of the first things I'd do is de-lipstick the car with a good paint shop. Probably sacrilegious to some...

I would rather buy the well maintained white one (green wrap) for sale on RL than this black storied car.

thanks for the heads up on the car; I haven’t been following all the posts so I missed that. Passed the link to my guy and he fully agrees with you. Not a RL member yet but will join soon and I’ll make sure he introduces himself, lol!
