Doug(SwitchCars) has a white RS for $230k-ish

Driven has a black RS for $218k, accident

I owned the black one at Orlando, it’s in great condition. Near perfect paint. No evidence of track time. Clean dme.

With the black 2k mile .1 RS selling at auction last weekend for $362k, without pccb…. I’m very interested to see what happens to the market on .1 RS.

Here is the white one I was talking about.

Switchcars

how is the black one in Orlando clapped out? It’s the lowest mileage and at a Porsche dealer, not arguing asking a question.

You're focusing way too much on mileage. There are countless super low mileage examples that are beat and high mileage ones that are pristine. The black car has been discussed a fair bit in this thread, should be able to search the VIN.

Grandprix has a .2 RS grey/black with weissgold wheels. Wonder why it's still for sale. Previous threads state that a new gearbox was replaced and that the suspension was modified for track use so I suspect lots of pitting. Was there anything that would make this a poor purchase? thx

Part of my equation is get a .1 RS and save the money and put it towards the 4.1 sharkwerks upgrade and suspension work done by BBI, but then I ask myself if it makes sense to do that to a lower mileage car that has life in the motor still vs getting a higher mileage .2 RS and since its closer to needing work, doing the 4.1 on it, however since the higher mileage has higher miles, it could mean more is worn out and drives the upgrade cost too. I want to track it, I live in SOCAL plenty of tracks not that far from me so there are options for that.

As I just typed that out, I think getting a .1 RS driving it till it needs work and then doing the upgrade probably makes the most sense, then I'm not leaving money on the table upgrading it prematurely. thank you for the reply.
If that's your intent, I'd probably pick the best combination of driver's miles + condition you can find from either generation. Mileage will definitely save money / leave room for your upgrades. But @Vocan is right; it's not going to "need" motor work in your lifetime if you maintain it properly. The 4.1 would just be elective work.

.2 is the better car.

high miles rs is the "value" play - will not depreciate another cent unless you ... crash it.

The fine print over there says the auction ends when the seller decides to accept an offer. It doesn't seem to indicate No Reserve.

I read through it and I'm not clear that it's going to sell unless an offer is accepted. Perhaps I missed it, but I even looked at the FAQ.

I know this will make Raudi mad which is not my intention, but I noticed today that….

1. Frog at GRP, 359 ask, no longer listed

2. Pumpkin at merit , 304 ask, no longer listed

3. White collection .1 Rs, 359 ask, no longer listed

Not sure if sold but very interesting !

Time will tell!
