The 997 GT3/RS Cars For Sale Thread...
So I went back to read and saw the banned guy wasn't the only one that had commented negatively. And I know you said you didn't want to share what happened with you.
Anyway I'm using this to lead into the one thing that sort of raised an eyebrow from PCAR's post was Jim on the phone saying, "I do have contractual right to sell it for 160." And look I'm not some expert on auctions so maybe that's very normal, but is that a case of "whether the seller would like to or not" comes after that statement? Because the hypothetical scenario where I go back and forth on setting a reserve with the auction site and then have a reserve not met auction, I'm not sure I'd be thrilled with the idea of them soliciting buyers at the reserve that I'd be forced to accept after the auction had already closed (of course depending on my level of urgency in moving the car). Maybe I'm making something out of nothing here and the seller has the right to accept or reject anything once the auction has ended, but was curious what Jim on the phone meant by that @PCARMARKET

"With respect to any auction in which a Reserve Price has been established, Seller further agrees that in the event the Vehicle or Item does not sell during the Initial Auction, the Vehicle or Item may be placed into a separate auction area of the Website for a period of forty-eight (48) hours during which PCARMARKET will use its best efforts to negotiate an agreement between offerors who placed the highest bids during the Initial Auction and the Seller (the “DealTank Period”). Seller agrees to not interfere with, prevent or prohibit PCARMARKET in any manner prior to or during the Initial Auction or, if applicable, during the Deal Tank Period, from carrying out its duties and obligations under this Agreement. PCARMARKET reserves the right to accept offers on the Sellers behalf if the offer is equal to or greater than the Reserve Price. Within forty-eight (48) hours after PCARMARKET accepts a bid from a Buyer and Buyer submits payment in full for the Vehicle or Item (the “Delivery Period”), Seller shall make the Vehicle or Item available for Buyer to retrieve or arrange for the shipment thereof unless other arrangements have made and agreed upon between Buyer and Seller."
If you don't comply with this as Seller, the consequences are severe:
"If Seller fails to make the Vehicle or Item available to Buyer or is unable to supply a transferable title in the seller’s name within the Delivery Period, Seller shall be in default under this Agreement and shall be obligated to pay to PCARMARKET, as liquidated damages, any amount of money that PCARMARKET determines in its sole discretion, including without limitation the Buyer's premium fee, administrative charges, any and all collection agency and attorney fees or other expenses incurred by PCARMARKET, on the basis of Seller’s default."

You know what they say, "buy the seller" LOL
(this was when Jesse had it for sale, not the current seller 911R)

It was a clean car, not a collector car. It was driven, and now it has been entirely rebuilt. The right buyer for this car does not care about nit-picking meaningless flaws in the past, they don't care about history, rather they care about the future experiences they will have driving it. Id sell my kidney for a 4.1, this .2 is by far the most mechanically perfect one currently on the market.

997.2
I have a 2010 997.2 that we used to autocross but haven’t in years. It has 26006 miles on it.
Picture taken today. I was going to sell it to a friend of a friend for $120k. Is that stupid low?
I have probably 8 extra sets of wheels too. Two sets of OEM and a bunch of OZ and a couple sets of Forgelines.
For an autocross (not track) car, does that sound reasonable or am I a chump?
Vinyl wrap has a bubble

I think allot of people would become your friend very very quickly...
A 24k mile 07 .1 Turbo sold today for 142k plus fees (not to say that is any bit reasonable, but someone thought it was)

you’re leaving a substantial amount of money on the table at $120K.

I would pull off all that PPF, those stickers, and try to get that car as close to stock as you can. A nice detail job and try for $160k. Heck maybe more but the market is softening. Your friend is gonna be mad.

agreed… hes disclosing that it was an auto cross car. Lots of GT3s have seen heavy track owners in the past and all can be refreshed, it looks like a good spec

This 997.2 is worth $160-170 all day, specially with those $10k plus bucket seats. You can sell the extra wheels in the classifieds and make substantially more. I wouldn’t mind a set.

You are about to be inundated with PMs offering you anywhere from your asking price to 10-20k over it, if you haven’t already I would be doing the same had I not been fortunate to find my dream spec car a couple months ago!

Might take $5k off for the Mr. Carwash bar code… that’s a new level of badass if I saw a .2 GT3 roll out of the automatic car wash, but nothin a good paint correction can’t take care of
