The 997 GT3/RS Cars For Sale Thread...

I bought a Porsche sign and the seller packed the sign with zero protection. It was shipped in a FecEx box laid flat with edges protruding. I couldn't believe it. I called him immediately, and the guy flipped out, and started making the most bizarre insults ever, and threatening me to boot. He said I damaged it, like I would do that sh*t. Some of you guys know me and my business, and I don't act that way.
I contacted Pcarmarket and they jumped in and even offered to buy the sign if the seller didn't buy it back. They could not have been better. I ended up making a later purchase from the same seller, and it went fine, and I went out of my way to be nice to him. There you go.
This phone call sounds legit, and this guy slamming Pcar is a douche from what I can see.

Looks like Carolina or Mattonthewater is now banned and managed to get one last dig in before he got booted. It would be nice for some closure on this drama as he made some pretty serious allegations. Someone is lying, ad right now it looks like Pcarmart isn't the one. F'in noobs!

Anyway I'm using this to lead into the one thing that sort of raised an eyebrow from PCAR's post was Jim on the phone saying, "I do have contractual right to sell it for 160." And look I'm not some expert on auctions so maybe that's very normal, but is that a case of "whether the seller would like to or not" comes after that statement? Because the hypothetical scenario where I go back and forth on setting a reserve with the auction site and then have a reserve not met auction, I'm not sure I'd be thrilled with the idea of them soliciting buyers at the reserve that I'd be forced to accept after the auction had already closed (of course depending on my level of urgency in moving the car). Maybe I'm making something out of nothing here and the seller has the right to accept or reject anything once the auction has ended, but was curious what Jim on the phone meant by that @PCARMARKET

I think I said something to that affect after his experience… unlike the obligation when at a live auction house the only thing that sticks is the fees. They don’t have to sell it and they certainly don’t have a warranty anything… even lemon laws don’t apply to BAT since there is no dealer liability. I got bent out of shape when Gooding and Co picked an on-site bidder over my bid when we had the same bid… this doesn’t happen with online actions. First thing I did was come on here and cry about it… then deleted it because I realized I was a baby.
BAT does a good job of trying to stay out of becoming anything but a robotic broker. Pcar still actually tries to broker unsold cars, BAT just auto generates emails and says “cool gimme my money”. This clearly opens auction stories up for interpretation and things like this happen.
