The 997 GT3/RS Cars For Sale Thread...

I know we covered this before but does the sport button also change the throttle input, making it more responsive or is it just the valves? My sport button doesn't really do anything but light up.
It is supposed to be a different engine map and more torque.

In the sports setting, the exhaust backpressure in the variable exhaust system is reduced, the gas cycle improved and the torque noticeably increased in the rpm range between approx. 3,000 and 4,200 rpm. This leads to an increase in the torque values of between 15 and 18 ft lbs (20 and 25 m) and an increase in the power output of 13 bhp

Doesn't change anything on the suspension or stability control. Have to use the PASM and SC/TC buttons for that. Sport mode opens up the exhaust bypass valves earlier and adjusts the ignition and fuel mapping to work with the reduced back pressure. This is where the HP and TQ gains come from.

I bet the owner feels like they are making out. If i recall correctly, they had that car listed at like 75-80k. I actually was going to trade my '19 TRD Pro 4runner in for it (plus cash on my end) but the gap was too big. At the time i couldn't ditch that truck, in the same model year as new with 10k miles, for 42k. 2 years later they were 55+. Talk about not worth it...

Anyone ever think that Snaveed picked up a PPP loan and used the money to buy cars? Now he's landed back on earth and has to either pay the loan back because he didn't use the money as required or gets to keep the money but his business doesn't have a windfall of cash it did during the plandemic so he's gotta liquidate, even at a loss. Possibly his grand plan to corner the market and make a profit didn't flourish.
Also wonder if he ever registered the cars in his name as if he didn't and now dealers are selling his goods, that's title skipping..... a felony!

I still think about a manual Cayman R listed here in 2017 that I didn't go buy that was Aqua with silver accents. There isn't a non PTS color I think I'd want more than an Aqua with white gold on a .2 RS. Beyond that, the Vesuvio car that is/was in SoCal though ranks quite highly in my brain. As long as we're just shooting the **** here.
But there was a Cayman R for sale in this color I believe in the Midwest in maybe 2018 or 2019 which also may have been worth a look. I think it was Vesuvio with black wheels, graphics, mirrors, etc. It also had added black stripes on it. If that's what you're referring to. There can't be many of those in existence. It wouldn't be shocking if it was the only one.

Hello. I own a manual ‘09 Turbo and I’m currently looking to add a GT3 to the garage. I’ve got two in which I’m interested but the prices are quite different: 2011 with 14,500 miles for $170k and a 2010 with 22k miles for $200k. The 2010 is slightly better equipped with PCCB, adaptive sport seats, center console painted, and a few other options. My question, is it worth the extra $20k and difference in mileage to get a GT3 with these options? Thank you!
