Totally agree with you that these cars are absolute keepers. I too dream about a high mileage/driver grade 4.0 but I can rest easy knowing that there's great performance increasing options for these cars like the kit from Dundon
If you want yellow calipers, I would be open to trading for a red set from my .2 RS. Otherwise I plan to refinish mine in red in the coming months.

I think driving down the straightaway at autoclub speedway at 160mph entering nascar 1, would cure a lot of people of their air cooled jones. They may be overpriced right now, but there’s really nothing like these cars.

I think air cooled are so magical, arguably best 911 ever...and I am 34 so it was really before my time and I'm saying that

Snaveed was some kind of BAT transplant to get a frenzy and excitement going on the platform, clearly wasn't arms length transactions.

A ford GT (and a scud imo) make the 997 RS prices not make a whole lot of sense to me, albeit they are insanely insanely amazing cars....but everything has its price

I love my 964’s…. One is loaded with suspension upgrades, a 3.8 rasant itb kit, great trans… I love my 997.2 rs… I’m glad to have them both. I had a 992gt3t great car not special, I have a r coming with back seats as a daily. I’m still looking for a .1 rs to add. The 963 vs 997 if I could only have one… I’d take a 997. I’ve had a dozen 964’s and 3 997’s turbo/gt3 rs. Amazing.

solid way of thinking, and sage advice.

.... That happened to my wife & I back in 2016 when we had a chance to buy a 1955 356 pre-A that been cocooned for over 40 yrs by a local ABC News Anchor John Harter II. The car was literally encased in a old garage that was turned into on-suite living quarters. There was no way to get the car out. Walls had to be torn down, and a lift used, just to get the car out of the building.
He used to race the car with Chic Stanton & Hobart Racing. 40yrs prior (to my wife working with this son-in-law for 10yrs, and then finally meeting John's wife), John did everything right to "store" the car. It was in phenom shape. We spent a lot of days/hours sitting with him hearing stories & looking at pictures, and me sitting in the car every visit.

Anyway,.. the car was never listed anywhere for sale, and ultimately sold privately for like $100k. My wife & I were not willing to pay that price, for a car that was essentially going to be a "cruise-at-low-speeds" C&C type car (let alone sit as a collector car). My wife & I need to have our hair on fire when we drive.

If we had bought that car, we would have never sought out a 997 GT3. .... so yes indeed. WHEW.

I just got into my first 964 in January, and I'm completely smitten. I labored over whether to sell my track beast GT4, and what to get in replacement, but now can't believe I ever gave it more than a few days' contemplation.

964 with OE+ mods is an absolute treat to drive. Completely connected, analog, approachable, and usable. Can't think of a better P-Car pairing than 964/997GT, save more exclusive iterations of those models.

Oh man that's a hard whew. That story alone is worth the price of admission... but GT3 FTW!

That’s a really nice track car. 10” fronts! I bet that would be a lot of fun!

Sorry, I know this is off topic but I thought I post enough for sale material here that I could get away with one transgression and it seemed silly to start a new thread for this question. For you 997,2 GT3 owners, when you turn on sport mode, do you get any sort of indicator on the dash or does just the light on the button light up? For all my other buttons like PASM, TSC, axle lift, PSM I get a message in the center display that the function was activated, but for sport mode I get nothing. It works fine. I’m just curious if there should be an indicator in the dash display as well. Thanks.
