The 997 GT3/RS Cars For Sale Thread...

I think the debate here isn't really a debate, but a difference in the subjective experience of the concept of "worth."
Speculation on what the market will or won't be is just that, and commentary such as "overpriced," "good value," "value proposition" and the like are all just reflections of a personal view.
The market is objectively what it is on any given day. Ascribing subjective qualities to it doesn't change it, and if history is any indicator, humans kinda suck at predicting things. So enjoy your GT cars if you got em. Or don't. The market doesn't care.

Looks, sound, power, reliability, etc.... I love my 3RS but at 350K it's beginning to not provide the same experience as the mid 100's when purchased. If you got 500k under the bed get a speciale and thank me later. New 4RS is worth every penny, even at 50K markup.

Anyone that thinks current 997GT cars are overpriced should check current prices for air cooled cars... woof...

Not necessarily, just was ready for a change and the financials made sense to sell it to me. I can’t justify more than one toy vehicle at a time and the itch for a GT3 kept growing so the 964 got the axe. Cool cars but not worth the current prices, at least to me, otherwise I would have kept it.

The air cooled stuff is really fun, but a GT3 is obviously so much better and it's still a similar driving experience, IMO. And you know you'll get from A to B every single with without any issues.

Every time I miss out on a. car, I always tell myself....whewwww. It's the only way I can cope with the disappointment. It works to get me over being screwed out of something.

I think with the 991.2 GT3 coming out in manual put a temporary stop to the party for 997 GT cars around 2018-2020. 2015 up till 2017 these were a hot commodity as it was believed Porsche wouldn’t make anymore manual GT cars. Once it was announced the 991.2 GT3 would offer a manual, it put the market for 997 GT cars in a state of disarray. A ton of people wanted the new GT3 with a manual. Nowadays a 997.2 RS is significantly more than a 991.2 GT3. Maybe because of the more analog driving experience, the styling and smaller dimensions, or the fact they made a lot less. They made more 991.2 GT3’s than every variant of 997 GT3/RS combined.
I did end up getting a white/gold 997.2 RS with PCCB’s. Getting close to 3 years of ownership of the car and a lot more to come. It’s an overused saying, but this one is definitely a keeper and perhaps one I’ll keep forever. Only reason I’d part with it is if the right 4.0 popped up at the right time and price, but that’s unlikely to happen and don’t count on it. Had a 997.2 GT3 before my RS for 6 years and won’t go without one of these 997 GT3/RS’ in my garage.

Totally agree with you that these cars are absolute keepers. I too dream about a high mileage/driver grade 4.0 but I can rest easy knowing that there's great performance increasing options for these cars like the kit from Dundon
