Some time back I looked at the price increase of all the 991 versions that have been released yet compared to the price of 997.2 in it's last year. Here's the list (all prices in USD) -
C2 - 4.3k, 5.5% increase
C2S - 5.9k, 6.51%
C2 cab - 4.9k, 5.5%
C2S cab - 6.5k, 6.4%
C4 - 5.6k, 6.59%
C4S - 7.3k, 7.45%
C4 cab - 6.4k, 6.66%
C4S cab - 8.1k, 7.43%
I believe the MSRP for 997.2 GT3 in it's last year (2011) was $116k here in the US. Even if we assume the price goes up by 8% for GT3, it would put the base MSRP around - $125k (USD). Now I have no idea if PDK (and other alphabet soup) is standard and if it will be included in the usual price increase or will hike the price even more on top of that. For example PCM is standard on 991, but was an option on 997.2, but that price is included in the % price increase I listed above.

$135k USD will be about correct for the NA market. Thats 132k approx using the 8% + PDK and then you have to accept the Euro is now pretty weak compared to a few years ago so Porsche will have to compensate for that.
You still buy the cheapest cars in the world period guys.

Don't understand why Porsche would jack up prices so much, considering global economic climate conditions. Come on guys, unless I'm really missing something here, Porsche been recognized as the sport's car manufacturer with least price increases over the years. Look at the price gap (hike) from 993TTS to 997.2 TTS. $150k vs $160k.
A 17 year spread

Heck, if it's a letter to santa , lets all ask if the 991 RS can be like the cup inside (that way his little elves don't have to work so hard - yet charge us more...), in fact why don't we send a group letter?

I received an interesting voicemail from my salesman last night. Apparently he struck up a conversation with an older German gentleman who came into the dealership yesterday and it turned out that the gentleman's grandson is a Porsche factory test driver.
The conversation came around to the 991 GT3 and while the German fellow wasn't telling everything he knew, he did confirm that the car would be introduced at the Geneva show in March and that deliveries would begin in the summer (whether that meant summer in the US or in Europe was unclear from the voicemail.) The gentleman went on to say that testers were raving about the new car and that his grandson told him it was both better handling and faster than the RS 4.0.
Make of that what you will.

Based on the gigantic void between the 997 S with PDK and the 991 S, that sounds right. Also with PDK the 991 is way faster than the 997 platform if you use ring testing. They said sport tires on the 997 and stock tires on the 991 which leads me to believe the 997 had MPSC. That's even more relevant.
Will be funny to see how many 3.8/4.0 cars go up for sale when the new GT3 comes out. Porsche would have to be complete idiots not to sell the car as a manual. With the speed the 991 is offering, the car would fly off the shelves.
That being said, factory drivers are prone to some propaganda. They have to be programmed to answer those questions a certain way.

In the meantime I keep up with the new Viper, and C7 Corvette revealing January 13. Either the Viper or ZR1 beat the ACR's 1:33.9 at Laguna by .2 seconds. Results posted Monday by Motor Trend. That's pretty magic for a non-aero car. If you like other cars, will be interesting to watch the Viper tested.
