No. Unless you are a politician. Then sure.

a.928. Its ok I think your response to my post is complete bs too. Apart from picking up on a typo (you will see in earlier posts and posts over on the rennteam board I state 7.28 numerous times) and some kind of fluffy ambiguous statement regards the 9000 rpm limit I dont see any value you added to the debate.

The 9000 rpm limit came form a factory porsche employee. The Ring time is my pure supposition based on research including recent interview with W. Rohl on the 918 proto lap times in recent EVO issue.

We can rant on all we like here. Proof will be unveiled in just over three months and then you can flame me all you like.

1999-2000 360Hp 7800rpm
2004-2005 380Hp 8200rpm
2007-2008 415Hp 8400rpm
2010-2011 435Hp 8400rpm and 450Hp 8500rpm in RS

2013-2014 >>> 9k redline unlikely with the Mezger or the 9A1. Not a single spy shot shows a manual transmission (finally, Porsche gets it). With the lighter body, better aero, better suspension, better weight distribution is more than enough to continue to perform quite well, and better than all the previous generations, but they will increase power anyway.

My favorite choice would be to see the GT3 with a 9A1 and mandatory sunroof and PDK, and the RS with a Mezger 4.0 , no optional sunroof and manual tranny. GT3 for $150k with 450Hp, GT3 RS for $225k and 520Hp.

I just hope you can opt out of the stupid $#%&*@^ center lock wheels.
And that 20" wheels are not standard.

Fookin' posers.

all the talk is centred on std gt3 being auto/9a1, and rs being manual/mezger.
sounds logical solution to keep everybody happy.

Since everyone else is pulling predictions out of their keisters I will too : the 991 GT3RS will have a DFI engine; not a Mezger.

Too much money. Porsche's price structure would be completely out of whack. Base on the 997 GT3 was around $115K, an RS was $140K and a Turbo S $160K. Your numbers would have the delta between GT3 and RS going from $25K to $75K, and a Turbo S would be close to a quarter mill. I don't think so.

And why a mandatory sunroof on the GT3? I hope not. A sunroof is optional even on the Carrera (again, finally).

No base GT3 or turbo to amortize mezger and heavy duty 6Mt expenses across.

Have a look at this GT3 spy photo in San Fran. If you zoom the tacho you'll see the dial logically reads to 10,000 rpm. There is no give away as to where the rev-line sits but 8800-9000 is plausible made more interesting by the comment from an insider that the engine will rev to 9000 rpm.

Im with Mike. The engine will likely be DFI but with some changes we haven't seen before on production variants. I have heard nothing about the RS power plant.

I can confirm from same source that GT3 will be PDK only.

I can confirm that center console in a GT3 makes me gag.
