And, moving the engine forward, even an inch or two, would improve the weigh balance of the car.

Has anyone here heard anything about this topic, or have an opinion as to whether Porsche might do such a thing?
One of the advantages of the lengthened wheelbase of the 991 layout is that the engine and transmission are effectively move slightly forward in the chassis for better weight distribution. All 991's share this configuration. Not saying it's impossible, but I'd be surprised if the 991 GT3 road car had it's own unique drivetrain location.

Would Spyder RS's / 918's V8 fit in there? Race proven and synergy with other models...

Remember in the 991 intro, there was talk of the hybrid powertrain that wouldve done just this (move the engine forward)!

No, just look at the scenery around the track; I think the same one has been posted in this thread already.

Gurney flap -- temporary solution to a non-finished wing?

Also, would they use the Carrera Aerokit stuff on the GT3s, or is it just on the mules?

997.1 and 997 GT3.1 both shared the same aerokit

Semi-related question. What are predictions on how the 991 GT3 will affect prices of the 996/7 GT3/RS and GT2? Increased supply of GTx cars should bring prices down on used ones. And superior performance of the 991 GT3 may bring prices down on the older cars also. But if the 991 isn't sufficiently raw and fun, or has too many 'aids' (PDK, PTV, PDCC) which can be left out or turned off, that may increase prices of the 996/7.

I'm in the market for a GT3 (or GT2), but am suspecting that prices are currently too high, and will drop.

Default Porsche 991 GT3 to be offered with PDK as an option...

Porsche 991 GT3 to be offered with PDK as an option...

"The 911 GT3 as the last bastion of Porsche purists. In addition, the cast iron sigh of relief: the dual-clutch is offered only as an option. In the summer of 2013, the GT3 roars with 450hp..."

(...with a different rear wing to the Aerokit on the test mule...)

Thank You, Thank You, Thank You
With all the recent posts stating PDK only I was getting nervous.
You have given me hope.

That's what I thought all along! Those persistent unrelentless bombardments of message boards across the web, were self-serving certain quarters in the auto industry !

I hope this is right and that there will be a choice for those who want a MT. I just wonder if this source is any more accurate than all those that have said PDK only.

Understand that Autobild magazine is Germany's top auto publication.

Yet just noticed the article dated 17 Dec 12! If it were definite, would been flashing all over the web!!
