New tire contingency rules Hoosier will pay 2 tires for 1st place in class if there are 5 entrants in class and you are on Hoosiers must register with Hoosier before running. If 7 in class then 2nd gets 1 Hoosier. Hoosiers need to be purchased from Performance Tread the on site NASA FL Tire supplier
That TTU record was set by a TTS car that took out some ballast and was barely out of TTS. Which is why the two records are so close and set by the same person. But a.3.8 is just under TTS and with a little fattening up would go in TTS.

The only 3.8 in TTS is the standard GT3.

The 3.8 RS puts power on a DynoJet in the 425whp range (multiple dynos posted so far).

The only way to get the 3.8RS in TTS is by tuning the ECU to make less power, add a restrictor plate, drop the rev limiter or adding a lot of weight.

The base weight of a 3.8RS (U.S. version) is 3,116 lbs with no fuel. Add 50 lbs of fuel and a 200 lbs driver, still doesn't get to the required 8.7 lbs/whp. Most tracked RS have the rear muffler replaced (less weight), toolbox removed, lighter wheels, etc.

If you guys want to do this at Roebling, I will donate the Dyno time at our shop in Charleston. I'm sure we can find an open day at RR. Worse case, rent the track and split the cost for a group of 10 cars. I would love to see how the 2 cars compare. Driver skill aside. Sounds like a lot of fun. I would also throw my hat in the ring for the impartial comparison driver. Really don't care what cars wins, just would be a blast to see which is faster. I also might have access to an aero beetle. 2011 RS with exhaust mods, hoosier r6, but has the ceramic brakes with stock pads.

RRR may be a good choice: dirt cheap to rent for a day, relatively safe, a significant equalizer of real or perceived HP differences.

RRR is a good, safe choice! Heck, I'm sure we could get 20-25 cars. I've done the event when we had maybe 10-12 in a run group and you hardly see anyone in your session on track. A lot of open track.

That TTS BMW was Randy Mueller in his C Mod M3. C Mods are FAASST running sub 2:00' at VIR and Randy knows how to drive.

I'm really tempted to take the RS to the track this weekend instead of the race car. Though I need seat time in the race car...
I must really suck then...that is flying on that track config. I'm in a stockish Carrera GTS on stock MPSC. Mods besided safety are mufflers, lower control arms for the front. Most GT3's with good drivers where doing 1:40-42's. If I got on the power earlier I would slide on Homesteads surface.

I'll post up a video later for some critique and pointers. I really enjoyed Homestead. It was fun and a clean nice facility.

Homestead is kind of fun.

NASA doesn't run the NASCAR 3&4 turns. But they are going to run T3/T4 this weekend for the first time, so records are up for grabs on that faster setup.
I thought your Cayman S had other suspension mods and was chipped/tuned, exhaust, underdrive pulley, PSS('s and so forth?

Indeed, his car is extremely well developed & he is a helluva shoe.

VR...I know...bunch of dang cheaters..... funny stuff at the track i always hear....yeah my car is totally stock....I then go look at the car and it doesn't sound or look stock and it has Hoosiers on it and mods galore.

I'm honest...my car is not stock but all it has besides safety harness is. free flowing mufflers, front lower control arms with solid bushings, rear toe arms to keep rear toe in check and I track on cast OZ wheels and N Spec stock sized 19" MPSC's which I have learned do not have the grip that R888's have in the 1st 4 track days of there life.

The nice thing about NASA TT is the TT director posts the car classification sheets and dynos on the web for all to see. Cars are visually checked in impound after each session and weighed as needed.

Ian ran a 1:31.883 at the SCCA january national in an underprepped STU Honda S2000 with 230rwhp that is running NASCAR 3/4.

I could have sworn I said with a little fattening up.

Yes, yes I did say that.

My car is stock.

My car is TTS.

Dyno/ weight plus weight add points make it exactly 8.7:1 = TTS.

If you hadn't been there before that's a good time. Time is made up there through 1 (flat out) coming off 10 and through 11. Takes commitment that can only be gained if you have laps there.
