These are the conditions to run Time Trials with NASA. One of the reason I got the Time Trials license, is to be able to run the Ultimate Track Car Challenge hosted at VIR every year by Grassroot Motorsports.
1. If you are advancing through the HPDE-1/2 levels with NASA, or if you transfer into NASA HPDE-1/2 from another organization:
a. Advance through HPDE-1 and HPDE-2 as necessary; no minimum or maximum days
b. 4 minimum clean, safe days in HPDE-3 (solo intermediate level, non instructed, passing anywhere with a point-by), then
c. 4 minimum clean, safe days in HPDE-4 (solo advanced level, passing anywhere without a point-by)
2. If you transfer into NASA HPDE-3 from another organization:
a. 4 minimum clean, safe days in HPDE-3 (solo intermediate level, non instructed, passing anywhere with a point-by), then
b. 4 minimum clean, safe days in HPDE-4 (solo advanced level, passing anywhere without a point-by)
3. If you transfer into NASA HPDE-4 from another organization:
a. 4 minimum clean, safe days in HPDE-4 (solo advanced level, passing anywhere without a point-by)
4. If you have a valid competition license from NASA:
a. You may directly participate in TT with no prerequisites
5. If you have a valid competition license from another organization:
a. 4 minimum clean, safe days in HPDE-4 (solo advanced level, passing anywhere without a point-by)
6. If you have an expired competition license from NASA or another organization:
a. 4 minimum clean, safe days in HPDE-4 (solo advanced level, passing anywhere without a point-by)
Some of the Aero Beetle boys have clearance to run in TT. Your best bet is to send your driving resume to Mark McKay and Jon Felton, and register for the 2 days event at Homestead this weekend prior to tomorrow so you get 2 days already in the pocket.

Don't know much about NASA org in FL but NASA norcal u be better off going thru the ranks to familiarize with the org via hpde(maybe for u experienced guys no need to go thru 1/2 try 3) if you haven't driven with them before. Not all orgs de's are one in the same. It can be quite an eye opener. Not many of my track buds want to run with NASA norcal. Mike

Rad, almost all the guys in this thread would only need 1 clean day in HPDE4 before they would be signed off for TT based on their experience. It's been that way for the past several years with guys that have the seat time.

See you this weekend. Still don't know which car I am taking, but look forward to meeting you nonetheless.

996flt6, it's a shame about NASA northcal. The TT and hpde4 guys in FL are great to run with. I've never ran super solo w/ pboc, but nasa beats everyone else down here for me.

...and would the Fiat last on a 45 min run like the Volkswagen would? Now the thread has turned into a 1 fast lap type of deal.

True and you'd be the perfect control driver ;-) however these guys need to go racing if they want to see who the better driver is... Gotta on a plane to Raleigh turning phone off see ya!

590 Hp? really?
Eddie, put a dyno day together for all of us, because these posts keep increasing my Fiat horsepower, and pretty soon it will be more powerful than an Enzo, 599 GTO, and F12. The highest one-time wonder dyno run my car has ever produced is 466whp, with averages in the 450whp range, and a one-time shameful 397whp, on the same dyno. I use the 397whp number, because contrary to Fiat, I prefer to underrate power and overrate weight, rather than do the misleading (most car manufacturers) opposite.
My local competitors in NASA-TTU have dyno runs in the 520whp range, with Torque figures up to 150 ft-lbs higher than my car, this is for 2012. They got a massive advantage on power over my Fiat, but that doesn't stop me to compete against them, because as any car with big power, it needs to turn and it need to brake too.
I'm very supportive of a 3rd driver (a Pro or a very experienced driver), to run 1 session in each car. Over a dozen people have driven my Fiat, over a dozen better drivers, I find their input and feedback very valuable. Such 3rd driver would provide me valuable information around Sebring just by looking at his data.
SuperSolo pace is too slow for this type of Challenge, unless we run at Daytona. Daytona!!! what about running the Challenge at Daytona, PBIR, Homestead? Challenge is still up

Well, I disagree that SuperSolo is too slow at Sebring. When Peter and Randy and others are doing 2:18's, on RA1's, in traffic, that tells me SuperSolo is plenty fast! I've been out there--it ain't slow....
