Rad makes it sound like you can just sign up for NASA TT and run. It isn't that simple or easy. You need to contact Jon Felton NASA FL Director and Mark McKay FL TT Director with your experience and qualifications. Don't be surprised if you have to run in HPDE4 for a day or 2 before being allowed to run TT. Rad is correct that the current group of FL NASA TT drivers are a good group.

Eddie,

If you decide to run NASA TT copy me when you contact Jon and Mark and I will send in recommendation for what good it might do. I have already talked to Jon about the GT3DE group and that most are qualified for TT. NASA TT does frown on 4 off and spins it expects it's drivers to keep their cars under control and safe. Doesn't mean they don't happen but multiple times can get u booted.

Thanks Peter, I'll call you tomorrow, so you can guide me thru it. I'm usually safe in that sense. No spins in Sebring yet, a lot of close calls, but the heavy *** babies are always nice to me

At Homestead last November a BMW M3 lapped in TTS (slower class than TTU) in 1:34.1. It holds the track record.

No Aero Beetle has touched that time yet, no Fiat, no Barbie car, no Kit car, so those kids in BMWs are quite fast.

4 off, or a spin is a DNF for all your lap times during a TT session, do it again and the day might be finished. NASA-FL plays safer than any other NASA group I have run with.

If there is one chance where we can run with lots of open track, that place and probably the only place is with NASA in the TT group.

TT and HPDE-4 used to run together, and that was a mess (too much traffic). Lots of complains at national level, and I think last year NASA Florida gave the TT drivers their own run group.

Cars are staged by lap time from fastest to slowest, so it is after a few laps that you get to catch the tail.

The most people ever registered in TT at Sebring is 23, with average being 20 cars. That's light traffic, and given how we stage, makes for a series of fast laps possible.

Is that the Grand Am course using NASCAR T3&4 or the course that Chin uses? 1:34 is smoking. I just did Homestead with Chin a few weeks ago and had a blast with Homestead. Best I could on N spec MPSC 19" is 1:43... High 43's and low 44's on the Chin version of Homestead.

Nice. About time more of you guys joined the dark side of NASA. You could start testing this weekend at HMS. We are Running on the banking which should make it more fun.

1:34 at homestead on Hoosiers is doable on the right day (IMO more doable than 2:16's t Sebring)

You guys might even convince not to bring my new Honda racer to to the track so you can establish a baseline on a bone stock RS on MPSC's. Should give Rad an easy baseline to surpass...

I ran high 1:37's the first time I ever drove the RS at HMS (I had been out a bunch in other cars)

34's on hoho's is doable. Porro was sub 36's on michelins a couple years ago in his gt3 if I remember right.

1:34's....Is that on the course with the NASCAR turn 3&4 banking? I would think so.

No. That's coming off 10 back Into the infield.

I would assume sub 1:30's w/ NASCAR 3 and 4. We are running it this weekend for the first time in the 3 or 4 years I have been involved with NASA.

I'm really tempted to take the RS to the track this weekend instead of the race car. Though I need seat time in the race car...

I ran a 1:41 with HPDE-4 back in 01/11 on fresh A6, and 1:42-1:43 on old A6 last November. My totally bone Cayman S, sans a front GT3 bar.

Homestead is kind of fun.

NASA doesn't run the NASCAR 3&4 turns. But they are going to run T3/T4 this weekend for the first time, so records are up for grabs on that faster setup.
