I think it's a good car for low 70s. If the car is structurally and mechanically sound, a little paint work wouldn't be an issue (for most). This car in particular is my 'unicorn' GTS so it's tempting, even with the paint work.

The saying "Too good to be true" came to mind. The car was also registered in a Harvey flooded zone in TX. So even if real, needs very careful inspection.

Why are GTS's so expensive? For 70-80k, you can get a nice 997.1 Turbo 6 spd.

It’s been for sale for 60 days so far. Rare Guards Red with matching instruments and seat belts, but otherwise a pretty basic spec. I always worry about a car being a track rat when it’s basic and has low miles. Pretty car though.

The GTS is a different experience. It’s a true drivers car. I wouldn’t ever consider a turbo anything, including a 911. Numbers are not as important to me as feel.

First listed 2-29-2020 for $83k . . .Pandemic car . . .I really like red cars with red dial, red SC and red seat belts.

The car has sport suspension (which includes LS), SC, sport shiftier the adaptive sport seats, the stuff above and etc. What else does it need?

29k miles is good to me!

This is a tough car to find and someone wanting a bad **** red manual coupe should go for it. Don't see many like this.

Are you sure about the price. I watch .2 tt, but not .1tts. I thought even the 997.1 tt with manual and mileage in the 20k range like this car is going to more than $80k.

After owning both a 997.1tt and a 997.2tt, I would take a 2012 GTS over a 997.1tt. I would take a 2012/13 997.2tt or ttS over the 2012 GTS though. I like the 997.2 ttS

I'm sure you can find plenty of threads about this if you want more detail. In short the 997.2 is the only 997 911 which I know of that has widebody, RWD, and an NA motor. Also it has standard the X51 powerkit which was an expensive option on an S.

I agree with Doug.
Just what do you consider "basic spec" on this car?
6MT?
SPASM?
LSD?
Sport Chrono?
Sport Shifter?
PDLS?
Heated Seats?
Nav?
Sirius XM?
Self dimming mirrors?

Granted, no PTS, full leather, PCCB, Aerokit, nor GT2 Carbon Buckets- but I sure wouldn't describe this GTS as "pretty basic spec".

Really hard to judge pricing in todays market conditions. $79K might have been a fair price 6 weeks ago. Prices on new and preowned cars at dealerships are dropping because the market is now a mess. The selling dealership will need to come to terms with what is happening today. I think this car will be offered at $75,000 in the next 1-2 months, and sell for low $70s. Also, this car has 30K miles and does not justify upper end of market pricing.

For sure. I was commenting more on car than price. There was another red manual coupe that was listed for $83k 5or 6 months ago that sold super quick, I want to say days/less than a week. I linked it in this thread.

A red 997.2 GTS manual coupe is difficult to find. If that is what a person wants, they may be willing to pay $80k even now. A low ball offer may work now as dealer may or may not be struggling for cash flow.

The car would be less valuable/liquid with buckets and some rightly or wrongly don’t want PCCBs because they are so expensive to replace.

To me, it would be my perfect interior with red deviating stitching. This one is close.

Black with red gauges, red belts, red deviating stitching and a little carbon fiber trim is the way I have speced a few of my turbos over the years. You can always add the carbon fiber though.

I'd rather get a GTS

I don't care for AWD or the Turbo

What's with the rear spoiler? Is that a stick-on aftermarket part?
