If anyone here is considering this car, I'd be happy to go have a look at it for them. I live about 10 minutes away from Mike Ward McLaren.

Looks like SW Vintage posted the pricing of their GTS that didn't meet reserve on BaT - that sucker is going to sit at that price

The BAT price would have been $76k out of pocket for buyer. Better for them to get the $76k of Cargurus than only $72,500 of the $76k from BAT. I could not do a red interior unless it was the 2 tone black and red leather with black deviating carpets. The car also has 40k miles on it. $76k is a good offer during a pandemic.

Definitely an acquired taste for the red interior. Striking and bold are words that come to mind. Still a lovely piece of kit.

I'm always careful about judging people's motives for buying anything. In my business, some people love the gear as much as music. I get that. It's beautiful. Some of the most well-read music lovers have systems that cost under $1k. They're no different than the guy that buys a $12,000 record needle.

Regardless if they are petrolheads or not, we have the love of the Porsche brand for driving, engineering, and beauty in common.

One of the coolest 997.2 S manual builds out there. 22k miles, perfect DME report. This is a dream car IMO.

Doug.

I always appreciate your comments and thoughts about 997s. Can you provide more insights of why this $102k MSRP Carrera S seems to catch your eye. When you use the term "coolest" and "dream car", I became interested.

Thanks
Mark

2007 Carrera S, 6 MT - Probably best as a track toy purchase.

I didnt see much in the way of details but this must be a scam at that price and mileage. Why do you think it would be best as a track vehicle?

Oh, you must've missed the pics! "Transportation Damage" to 3 of 4 fenders from a quick glance.

You must've miss the pics! "Transportation Damage" to 3 of the 4 fenders. Brings the price more in line with the condition. Although, I don't know if I'd even drive it at a track without some effort. Project for sure.

Yes, was looking at my cell phone and did not see the damage. Even so, I wonder how much a good body man would charge to fix the rear quarters and replace the front fender. Would make a nice daily driver with lots of miles left on it. I wish it was closer so i could go see it and have a body shop estimate.

Depending on how much it would cost to make presentable, it could indeed be an awesome worry free-ish daily (still the threat of bore-scoring). But miles/wear and tear from DDing it wouldn't be a real concern because the resell is tanked anyways.
