For that year, mileage, and spec, it seems almost too good to be true. Wonder what the Carfax would turn up. When I was searching earlier this year, you couldn't find a clean, early model year .2 C2S manual with low mileage for anything under $50k, much less an '11 with this spec. Something smells off to me, but if it were to check out, could be a great find for someone.

That's still true. I've been searching for the last few months. $53k and under is a deal, $57k-$60k is going rate for a really nice one, though depending on options amd color, it could sit a while at that price. An 09 C2S 6mt in dark grey with 17k miles and full carbon interior options (including steering wheel) sold for $62k in a matter of days recently.

I lucked out and found a nice one for $50k but I snatched it up the same day it was listed. Two owner car with under 50k miles, perfect maintenance history and a completely clean CarFax. You do see deals like this but they are very rare and you have to move really fast. I missed out on a red one with 40k miles for $52k because i didn't move fast enough.

Greetings, I've been searching for the last few months. I test drived this vehicle yesterday and it was excellent. Due to the report, the frame C pillar was previously damaged. There will be alignment issues, so it was too good to be true.

CarGurus usually (or always, I forget which) uses AutoCheck. I've used Carfax for every car I seriously considered and I found many, many cars that said no accidents on AutoCheck buy showed accidents or damage reported on CarFax. A clean CarFax doesn't necessarily mean the car wasn't in an accident, but its far safer than AutoCheck! Always run the car fax. It's worth the money.

The damage is recent, too. Only a few thousand miles on the odometer since the accident. They might need to drop their price more.

Same here, except $46.5k/47kmi (and was a Cab). I was on the lot the same day it went up. They didn't even have pictures up yet.

Congrats on the purchase and the deal! I've noticed cabs go for less than coupes on the used market, which is funny because they are more expensive new. But I guess the same holds true for PDK vs Manual - PDK costs more new but manuals cost more on the used market.

Regardless, $46.5k is a solid deal on a cab. Congrats

I was pretty damn happy with it! I've driven it almost 1,000 miles since it was delivered 8/31 and I was out of town for a week this month. I still don't feel like I've driven it enough.

Discount on the cabs seems to be $3-5k so I'd say $50k for a coupe is in the same "deal" ballpark. Now, you can enjoy driving around in a Porsche that you know won't be dropping in value at anywhere near the rate of a new $50k vehicle.

I e-mailed a couple folks at that dealership trying to get details about the damage and repairs, but the only response that I got was that they wouldn't have taken the car if it had serious issues.

I've been shopping for my first Porsche for a month or two now. Have toyed with a 997.1tt but keep coming back to a 997.2 C2S 6MT Coupe.

The price ranges I am seeing are huge. $49k to $70k. Let's factor out any cars with ANY damage or accidents showing on CarFax, and any cars with over 65k miles.

I see some 60k miles examples offered at $49k.
I see some deals on nice 30k to 50k mile cars going for mid $50k (and very rarely low $50k), but also some of those all the way up to $68k. Most of the higher priced ones are at specialty dealers who appear to sit on the cars for many months, but when I contact them, they claim the car "sold for asking price" yet it's still listed on their website and all the car shopping sites.

So it's been tough to arrive at a fair market valuation. For a good color combination, without any really rare or unique options, it feels like $55k for a car with 30k-40k miles is about right for a "decent" deal. Would you agree or do you think it could be found for less with a little more patience, or is that price too low? Would you say $60k for a car with 30k miles is too much?

Thanks in advance.
I would pay $60k for a 997.2 C2S manual with 30k miles or less if it's local, completely unmodified, has a flawless PPI, includes both keys, has some documented service history, original window sticker, and if it's a spec that really appeals to you. In other words, a "needs nothing" car that you can immediately start enjoying. That's what I feel it takes for a .2 C2S to be in that $60k-$65k range.
