Thanks, got some answers.
The 997 had an evaporator behind the dash that sometimes leaks. $2500 -$3000 ... remove dash to get at it.
Worst case for instability after PO lowered the vehicle,.... new suspension work, springs, shocks,...~$3500.
Worst case~$6500....
BTW, ..... This was the blue 09, c4s at the Mercedes dealership in Charlotte from an earlier post....

ok i had DME and PPI done on a 997.1 C4S. My mechanic didn't seem too worried about the DME, even though there is range 4 and 5 events as he did a borescope and leak-down, and they generally checked out. What do you guys think? How much risk is this, if PPI and borescope seems decent, and it drives good.

I wouldn't shy away from it if the price is right, but the price has to be right. Even if the motor is sound, I would expect premature wear on stuff like suspension and the like.
