Yes, I have been talking to them about it. I'm looking for a 6MT basalt black 997.1 S with <50k miles for less than 40k. This came close! These things are hard to find. Looking at one near Atlanta, but the story has some holes in it. IMS bearing was replaced in a '06S at 34k mi by an indie shop for 3k. Current owner has owned the car less than a month and had this done.

Yeah, kinda did a double take on that but I think he typo'd 997.1 since he was looking at an 06. 991s aren't even close to $40k yet.

So my wife and I just bought a house (well under contract at least) so I am putting the 997 acquisition dreams on hold.

My last good lead was this one.

https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/d...3214/overview/
2009 997.2 C2S 6SPD
55k miles
WP0AB29999S721897
Clean carfax history (granted 6 owners)

The original listing they had up was super wrong. They had listed the car as a PDK 4S AWD. After a few back and forth emails about it the sellers corrected everything. They were nice enough to send me original build sheets they obtained from Porsche.

The last time I chatted with the internet sales manager the car was being tended to at the local Porsche dealership. They promised to email me the maintenance report they got back from the dealership and were still open to a PPI.

The price is low for a 997.2 C2S based on my searches. PPI first though! I hope this helps someone. I have no horse in this race anymore.

2008 997.1 C4 6MT coupe 39k miles, clean PPI. Sport chrono, bose, 19" turbo wheels, no nav. 96k build. Arctic silver/black leather. $37k a good deal? Thinking about pulling the trigger on this one.

Just a heads up - someone is lying in that story. The indie shop, the seller, someone, because the '06 has a revised IMS and does not need the retrofit. I learned this a very, very painful way when I got mine.

Thanks. I passed on it, even at 35k.

I like this car https://tampa.craigslist.org/hdo/cto...342730284.html
but would want the rear wing removed, is it possible to do this? Other thoughts on this one? Do the mods (tune) bring down reliability or value?

EDIT: Probably a scam as Overtons has the car at 49k

Of course you can swap out the rear decklid/wing, but Factory Aerokit is a big selling point, as is Sport Exhaust.. great options except the grey interior, but full leather helps. I don't think those mods affect reliability/value. They can always be swapped out.

The craigslist one definitely looks like a scam: https://tampa.craigslist.org/hdo/cto...342730284.html

Here's Overton's RL listing: https://rennlist.com/forums/vehicle-...-metallic.html

I think it has the X51 power kit. If so grab it fast or the vultures in here will get it.

How does the power of a 997.2 (2010 with no SportChrono) compare to a 997.1S. I think the HP is less, but how is driveability?

note the description says it's AWD but its a C2S so RWD. Don't know where you are but this one doesn't have seat heaters.
