If you watch the market and then keep and eye on what people here sometimes suggest whenever "what should I list my car for?" threads come up, there's definitely a handful of guys who strangely overvalue these things by several thousand dollars. Likewise in the classifieds when something is overpriced (and not selling) and you see "great price, this will move fast!!" comments.

I think they're either out of touch since they're owners and not in the market or, more cynically, hoping to help prop up the value of their own car...

Reason I ask....KBB regularly undervalues 911s vs what the market will pay.
I find the opposite to be true.

One year ago, I purchased my CPO '12 4S with Aero package from a Porsche dealer for $60k. One year later I sold it, to a dealer for $62.

KBB has trade-in range at $64-$71k. I would be a fool if I posted it for $71. I posted it at $62 and in 30 minutes I had an offer in hand. Maybe I could have gotten $62-$64 it I waited and dealt with tire kickers etc but it would never have moved at $71.

A 4S with Aero package is pretty rare, it's what somebody wanted so it moved fast. 997.2 4S with manual in any form moves fast for sales.

I'm not one to care a whole lot about a minor rear end accident. It has a decent service history particularly on the first of two owners.

Agreed! I would love one, but don't feel like paying a $10k premium. You can't get the rear wing or bumper anymore, only the Aero front bumper on a 997.2.

This was my old car...

http://www.audilasvegas.com/used/Por...9a51bf07d1.htm

it is a 2s and not a 4s like they wrote in their ad.

I still have all the service records.
It was serviced at dealership and at eurospec on pico blvd in LA.

great buy at 33k. 106k msrp in 2006. It had a small accident reported to carfax...nothing to worry about.

I hope it goes to a rennlister.

Mine was PDK. If it was a manual, I may have worked out an excuse to keep it. I only bought it because I thought it was a good deal (found it on this thread). PDK is faster, but I just prefer a manual.

Winter is coming... buyers market is heating up.

This looks promising at first glance. Anyone have a carfax subscription that can tell me what's wrong with it?

Great price, atlas always looks good. Probably a summer car only given the location and mileage.

Sport seats a bonus as well!

Do it. If it’s a no stories car, it’s the best 997.1 S I’ve seen at that price.

$90 for a PPI? What am I missing here? Seems way too cheap.
