Spent hours searching for any information regarding the 6-disc CD Changer disc read error. My number 5 disk is no longer reading as loaded in the tray. I unloaded the cartage and reloaded it; I rearranged the discs in the cartage I loaded the #4 disc then loaded the #6 disc ... but #5 just won't read as being there. Then I searched the internet and this forum for any information about the error, but I am coming up empty.
Anyone seen this error before?
Any solutions?

Since I installed the new head unit, I'm sure my changer is no longer in the mix. Honestly I'd send it to you if I could figure out how to remove it but then I'd worry that removing it screws up something else...

There also was a problem when I pulled my Bose amp out to install new caps and improve the heat sinking. The system reset and I lost the balance settings. Fortunately the OEM interface remained available with the add on Carplay unit so I could access the settings.
In other words, settings at either device can get lost.
FWIW, since working on the amp I haven't had another episode where it hasn't worked (delivered sound) at power on. But a word of caution ... this was an intermittent problem so I'm not sure when it's OK to declare victory. Also, having done two things at the same time I can't say if the fix was the heat sinking or the caps. The caps looked fine. The transistor paste was definitely compromised. But perhaps the problem was something else ... simply a cold solder joint.
