jamesinger I can never notice difference between 3.6 & 3.8. And only tiny difference in the larger S brakes.
I love the black face gauges - No idea why Porsche started using the white face in S cars. To me stupid/ugly.
Happy Holidays!
Got confused--->Had to back pedal & correct above post - My car has Function First Short shift kit as did 3 previous 997's.
Previous owner told me it was factory but incorrect.
Function First has always been a solid kit and makes big difference in amount of throw needed
You sure? The function first just replaces plastic with metal. Don’t think it makes a change in amount of throw.

Numeric shifter all the way!
Fairly certain - I will look into it when I'm not on my *** recovering from flu-like symptoms from Covid Booster shot yesterday
Lots of pain in my "Jab" arm - Nothing like 1st 2 Vaccine shots
I got confused short shift info with the other 2 997's I had PPI'd last couple months.

I never drove them back to back but this is good to know. On paper they are so close to each other I was wondering if anyone could really tell the difference.
Replaced the AOS and installed an IPD plenum while I was at it. Probably the toughest DIY I’ve done on this car yet. The hose from the AOS to the plenum was brittle and cracked. It took two weeks to get a replacement. Then It was very difficult to get the plenum clamps and rubber straps back into place. I had multiple unsuccessful tries until I laid a couple towels on the engine to hold the plenum in place. I used a bent hanger to pull the towels out after it was clamped in. I also had to purchase longer bolts for the plenum clamps because I couldn’t squeeze the clamps tight enough to get the bolts started. I also reset the throttle body and installed a Fabspeed air intake. I was very happy when I got it back together and it fired right up. Not great weather but I did get a spirited ten minute test drive in. Definitely felt it in the SOP and love the sound.

We drove home from Skamania Lodge sunday before last and noticed some dusting along 101 and there was snow on the roadway south of Quilcine on the pass.
Next project will be removing the front bumper to clean the radiators and replace the washer pump. Considering installing a third radiator. After the last project I’m taking a break until late January.
Started my winter projects, bumper is off for respray as well as cleaning the radiators and the turbo deck lid is off for color match paint this week. Waiting for a few other parts, mainly a new AOS and IDP plenum.
Bumper was not that hard to remove, this was my first time doing it. New parts are so nice Clean radiators, they actually were not too dirty, but nice to have them clean Headlights are off to get polished, they are a bit hazy All the removed parts waiting to be cleaned before reassembly
Not original to my car but sourced a 997 turbo deck lid from a fellow rennlister who was upgrading and got it disassembled and ready for paint; my car is Meteor Gray. Hydraulics are dead so I had to force it open, and have a set of Rennkit eRams ready to go in. Successful separation!
Removed sand beige console. Purchased on ebay oem gloss black console for $450. like new. Had my bodyshop paint the pdk surround shift trim in Porsche oem gloss black paint. Also enlarged opening for cab top switch. Original sand beige console removed.
