I didn't like the flat look of the Turbo wheels so I "reprofiled" and polished them. Love them now.

I completely agree with this. I actually like the black rims he put on a lot for some reason, but it might just be a phase.

If you live in Seattle and vow to never drive your 997 in the rain, you would probably NEVER get to drive it!

Default Has anyone replaced a Door Armrest before?

My local dealer dropped something on the Macassar wood finished armrest and it fractured the lacquer finish off it.
<Long sordid story of why I won't trust them to fix it omitted.>

IT looks like I have to take the whole door panel off to replace the armrest.
Has this been done and documented by my fellow Porsche-philes?

You're correct that the armrest is relaxed from the backside of the panel. I've done a couple of them, but didn't document the process. It's pretty intuitive once you have the panel off to see how it is retained and works.
