Today was my first "fun" drive since getting my car in late May. Yeah, seriously. Lot's of reasons why. Buuuut...first real drive with 1. Sharkwerks X-pipe installed (awesome...no regrets at all, love it with PSE) 2. New center caps...adjusting two of them to be "properly aligned" 3. Extenders, 15mm rear, 10mm front. 4. LED back-up bulbs.

I love this car. Can't say that enough.

Most of my 2-hour drive was pavement, but cannot avoid dirt roads to get to the best VT twisties. ×

Glad to hear it's on the road now! Enjoy, but think twice about lowering it much -- the VT roads are not going to be easy on the front lip of your car if you lower it.

Thanks @TheTorch, and you're right. Only lowering it with Eibach's sometime in the near'ish future...one "finger's worth" between fender lip and tire (currently there is a "two-finger's worth" gap).

Where it will really limit me is in mud season, as you well know...I'll be wanting to get out but will have to bide my time. I'm not a patient person.

Thx!

Bob

Coilovers! Not a bad DIY at all. Here are some shots before settling and alignment. Now the stock 18s don't look as terrible.

That looks great! I got a panel as well from them but it was damaged in transit by UPS (bent in half) so now I'm trying to get it replaced. Hopefully will be able to install soon!

It’s a nice piece. I just hope no one hits me from the rear lol. Also I know my rear bumper was repainted before I bought the car...but it really irritates me that someone used small plastic pop rivets to secure the bumperette covers instead of using the clips from Porsche. Now I have 6 holes in the rear bumper. Guess I have to paint those rivets white...

That seems more like a bump-reduction than a full bump-ectomy.

Thanks @Hindsight2010 . Using the .1 kit with some mods. Haven't installed anything yet unfortunately. More parts arrived today but still have one shipment coming in about 2 weeks as the parts had to come from Germany.
Appreciate the tip regarding the gaskets. Will let you know how it goes.

Let me know if you notice any difference with the new engine mounts.

I just replaced my header to cylinder head exhaust gaskets as well as part of some suspension work - I installed some adjustable rear toe arms and the headers block you from removing the bolt that attaches these arms to the frame. It was a particularly frustrating procedure to install new gaskets! The gasket wants to slide around on you, the headers are HEAVY, and it's very hard to get everything lined up so you can start running the bolts back in. Ultimately what I did was 3 small pieces of thin scotch tape to hold the gasket to the header. I was able to pull a couple pieces off after the first two bolts were in but another couple pieces stayed on - no matter, it will burn off in seconds and won't impact sealing. I also used a floor jack to support the headers and jack them up into place so I could use both hands to align and thread things. Couldn't have done it without the floor jack. Also used anti-sieze on those bolts.

You have other RUF stuff on that car, like the front bumper or engine mods? Upper rear wing active aero where it raises?

Paid an absurd amount for an oil change at the dealership. Yes, I know better but can't do the job where I live and didn't have time to wait days for an indy shop to fit me in. Bought her home last week '08 C2S cab 70k, 2nd Porsche, 1st 911 (have had a 2014 Panamera S-E hybrid)
I've already done some minor fixes...changed out the hood struts, cabin filter, wire brushed and sprayed the cowl, today. Waiting for some parts to ship, for a few additional minor updates (swapping centre caps to colored crest and a few other minor changes).
She's a 2nd car for weekends and road trips, although I have driven it everyday day since bringing it home lol

No RUF parts unfortunately. Just the standard 997 TT rear decklid and Porsche front aero kit bumper cover. The rear wing does raise up just like a stock TT
