I'm probably somewhat of a nutcase fanatic - but here is the process / products that I used:
1. CarPro Iron X (initial cleaner - primarily for the barrels and inside rim)
2) Sonax Full Effect Wheel Cleaner (outside of wheels)
3) Stoner Tar / Bug remover
4) P21S Paintwork Cleanser
5) CarPro Eraser - prep for ceramic (hyper wax in this case - removes any polish residue and promotes adhesion for the wax / sealant)
6) Chemical Guys "Hydroslick"

One addition step that I left out in the above - clayed them prior to using the P21S...

The Iron-x is the purple stuff?
Good on you having the time and patience for all of that. I just need some good wheel cleaner to remove the brake dust.
IIRC, the Sonax was the purple liquid that turns reddish once applied. I could be wrong. I ran out of the wheel cleaner and haven't used the product in a while.

You'll find all kinds of opinions on this. Have to be careful with choosing a wheel cleaner based on my experience. I would look for something that is more PH neutral as some cleaners are acidic and can harm the finish when used over time.
Both Sonax and Iron X products are PH balanced. I've used Sonax for years and for me its been safe - even on highly polished / clear-coated wheels. If you're just looking to get the brake dust off you may want to try that.
My thought was to really clean them and and apply a highly hydrophobic sealant to prevent the brake dust from adhering to the finish over time.
Both products turn purple in color when they come in contact with iron. Sonax is a lime-green color initially - turns purple as it activates.
Note: I've encountered some pretty foul smelling auto detailing products over the years - but the Iron X product takes the trophy for all time worst smelling product that I've ever used. Whew... bad. (But it works great.)
Bit the bullet and started tearing things apart to locate and repair the source of my intake leak that's hidden behind the alternator and causing an overrich condition. I haven't driven the car since October and haven't wanted to spend the time to fix it as I've been busy playing with dirt bikes with my son.
What makes it fun is that all the supercharger belt, tensioner, and cage is mounted in front of the alternator and the normal serpentine belt.
In order to get access to the lower 2 bolts you can see in the pictures, the rear of the engine is going to have to be supported by a transmission jack as I need it lower than spinning the motor mount bolts down will allow.
To get access to those I also need to remove the exhaust cats. To remove the cats, I have to take down the mufflers and remove the rear bumper became with the valvetronic exhaust valves on the outside, they won't push wide enough to get the coupling sleeves from the cats to the mufflers off.
Going to take probably another day before I actually get to what's wrong, will then need to order parts to replace the failed part and then put everything back together.
Going to replace my chain tensioners while I'm under here and install the Function First Transmission Mount Inserts (street hardness) too.
