I recently repainted the rear wiper arm of my 2005 997.1 which was showing signs of sun ageing. One of those jobs I decided to tackle late on a Sunday afternoon. The hardest part was removing the arm from the tapered shaft … a cheap bicycle crank puller was handy.
I suggest place a beach towel or similar around the work area to protect the rear window - I was fortunately prepared when the puller slipped off on the 1st, 2nd, etc attempts. Man was it wedged on tight!
Once off, it was not necessary to take the arm back to bare metal - instead a light rub-back with some fine wet and dry and several light coats of satin black brought it back to new appearance. Upon re-installation some anti-seize on the splines will hopefully help the next person who removes it.
Bought a full leather interior for it, excluding the dash. The pillars, front and rear door covers, stereo surround and under dash parts minus glovebox. Got a great deal I feel. Now to just clean, leatherique and install it. Will post some pics of the process.

Can't wait for your install notes - I want to do this next as many bits as I can. I've pulled the center console before to change the hand-brake, but the rest I don't know...

I was only interested in the stereo and door panel parts. But it was such a good deal i knew I would be kicking myself.
Currently Leatheriquing the interior. May be a little bit as want to touch up a small area of the drivers door.
Any good links for the b and c pillar removal anyone?
I haven't taken too many photos of her lately. It's such a nice day today that I decided to snap a quick one. (Please excuse the iPad quality.) Here she is with the various black details I've added recently: black OEM center lock nuts and center caps, OEM black inner PSE exhaust tips, and Rennline intake grilles. I love the blacked out bits that the GTSes come with from the factory, but I also think they could've gone a tiny bit further. For me, it's now nearly perfect.
Fixed my audio problem in my 997.1 4S. Not that I missed it but I want everything to work as it should.
CD Changer was broken as cartridge was blocked inside. Some moron replaced the internal fuse by a solid wire so no surprise why I found a black pcb inside.
Found a second hand on Ebay, easy replacement but after that nothing worked anymore, all MOST connections lost...
I did learn that you should not pull too much on these MOST connectors as than you compress these internal springs leading to too much attenuation and loss of signal. Also the maximum bending radius to be maximum 25mm.
After surgery on the MOST connectors to make sure the springs are OK, all is working fine again. It definitely helps to have the full Porsche manual I would say.
I think I am getting a new TPMS control module now. This service is turning into quite the "event". Trying to remain positive and I think my warranty company is equally starting to feel the rub.
H&R springs
NHP bypass pipes
Function First transmission mounts
Function First engine mounts
Function First shifter ****
Transmission flush
Shifting feel has improved, and the sound when accelerating in 3rd is downright nasty. Only real downside so far is some additional buzzing due to the new, firmer mounts that I'll get to troubleshoot. Oh, and the check engine light as a result of the bypass pipes.
Plan to try the O2 sensor bungs next.
