Took her out for a drive on some fast country back roads with father in toe in his Ferrari 360 Modena F1....The Ferrrari may be quicker on paper or a track ,,,but the Carrera S leaves it for dead on country back roads ,,,,the Ferrari just can,t handle the bumps and tends to spin the tires a lot on slow speed corners ......fun day

I was surprised how similar the 997.2S and 360 Modena are in dimensions (the 360 is a bit lower and wider, as you might expect for a Ferrari), HP, torque and weight distribution. So, I'm curious why a 360 would not handle bumps well and spin its tires in slow speed corners? Better suspension management in the 997.2S? Differences in engine placement? Thank you…T

The 360 was really bouncy and jumped around a lot on the bumps even on a none sport setting you had to get off the throttle it just wanted to leap of the road,,the Carrera S just soaks them up and powers on with the suspension in the softer setting,,,,,mind you the sort of country back roads we have down under are quite narrow and poorly maintained ,,,certainly not intended for European sports cars driving at high speeds ...
On the hill climbs in the tight first and second gear corners the Ferrari liked to hang her back side out and lay a little rubber ,,,something I didn,t expect it to do ,,looked and sounded spectacular driving behind it while this was happening , even with the PSM of the 911 just grips the road and launch.s into the next bend with no loss of traction,,,perhaps my fathers tires have seen better days,,,I shall have to set up a Go Pro in the 911 to capture this next time we go for one of these spirited drives , the old boy has no hesitations about getting the 360 out of shape .....

Thank you and it sure is and the camera can never capture the correct shade. It is very dark, near maroon. I think it matches the car perfectly although I was scared to death when I first found it on auto trader and hted the i terior pics.
Changed to the new PTX transmission oil. Changed engine oil and filter housing/cartridge.
Took her for a last spin before putting her to sleep for the winter.

All-in-the rear: Rear wheel traction. On curvy roads, that means slow-in, fast-out.
Coyote ran across the road and I swerved to miss it and caught gravel. Skidded through a steel pole fence.

Yikes, Chris! I hope you and any passengers are OK. Can't say I' m surprised. The last time the wife & I were in PHX area, we saw a coyote running through the streets, and that was in the UA area. Hope you're back in a Porsche soon…T
